 DR. JOSÉ GONZALES, PLEASE just a last question and I am not going to ask more:

1. I have got a new test at 37 days and is negative is a hiv1/2 antigen/antibody, mi pregunta es que leí en un reporte de WHO

http://www.aidsmap.com/Accuracy/page/1323356/

2. I am worried too about VIH2 because I have read that this test at 5 week (37 days) no detects VIH2, because antibodies only appear after 6-8 weeks, and antigen only detect vih1.

3. If I had symptoms of ARS (fever, throat inflamed, some sores in the palate) then this could reassurance that the tests should detect antibody at 37 days, because people with ARS develop antigen and one of two weeks after develop antibodies, and could be occur that if that symptoms are too low to be detected like antigen?

In the study of WHO they say this: “individuals who were not identified had lower viral loads (median 3576 copies/ml, suggestive of extremely recent infection) than individuals who tested positive (median 662,217 copies/ml).8”

http://www.aidsmap.com/Accuracy/page/1323356/

and too that the say:

Levels of p24 start to drop approximately a month after infection, but antibody is usually detectable by this stage. However in some extremely rare cases, p24 may become undetectable before antibodies are detectable, and a fourth-generation test could give a false negative result. Tests for p24 only do exist, and these are more sensitive than the combined tests, so are more likely to show infection at this stage.9 3 10
False negatives usually occur only when someone is tested soon after exposure, or occasionally when a test is insufficiently sensitive to a rare subtype or to HIV-2. Tests are liable to produce a small number of false positive results, regardless of the person testing, but some medical conditions and vaccinations can also contribute to false positives.11

4. Could be my case that perhaps my antigen is very low that is not detected at 37 days?, and I still no develop antibodies?, then test at 37 days no have found hiv?

5. IF all the last questions are only suppositions of me, then this test at 37 days is 99.9% and not 100% about my detection of hiv?

6. I am worried that the price of the test of the vih duo is only 22 US dollars, but the price of the antigen p24 (only) test is 40 US dollars, I don’t understand why? The vih duo should be more expensive I think, or the clinic is testing only with a third generation or a low technology of vih duo???

PLEASE just a last question and I am not going to ask more:

1. I have got a new test at 37 days and is negative is a hiv1/2 antigen/antibody, all the tests I OF ANY brands of this test are the same reliable after 28 days?
2. I am worried about VIH2 because I have read that this test at 5 week (37 days) no detects VIH2, because antibodies only appear after 6-8 weeks, and antigen only detect vih1.

Dr, I have received my results at 31 days about the vih1/2 antigen+antibody and too an exam of only antigen p24, both negative

Please I am fear that this 4th generation test I have taken perhaps could fail, because the center have taken my blood the tuesday at 19:00 hours and I have received the results just the wednesday (yesterday) at 13:00 horas, then was 18 hours of time, and I have read that the blood need to be tested quickly before six or 12 hours, then I have got fear about this or perhaps some failing of the center.

and the test at 31 days is definitive or I need to do it at 8 weeks or 3 months too like advise other institutions?, can i be sure at 100% with this result, i am worried about all that information.

All the 4th generation test are the same reliable at 28 days?

Regards

Hello - and thanks for coming back. I think that you will not be HIV positive. Unless the condom had actually torn or come off during the sexual activity then there would be no risk.

The HIV test you had at 16 days is a little early but if the symptoms you describe had been due to HIV then the probability is that the test would have been positive. I think you should have another test at 28 days to put your mind to rest. I do not think that your wife was put at risk of HIV because I do not think you have it.

kind regards, Sean

About a exam that infectologist have made me an Antigen p24 at 16 days and was negative, and I am fear to do again the test at 28 days or 90 days, I think I have HIV because I have been with fever, inflamed tonsils, and some sores in the palate at ten days after my risk exposure but the infectologist have checked me but I haven’t other inflamed ganglions in the body like arms or legs, and this sickness was at ten days after the exposure and I am fear because I have read the fever and sores an are symptoms of primo-infection or vih and first days.

The other is that I had a relationship protected but I have got a fear because I have been drunk  I have seen a Little piece of cotton of my boxer short inside of the condom and I have no changed of condom then I am fear about this because is possible this could have generated a high friction during the relationship and this could have generated a fail of the condom of his porosity or permeability.

The other is that I had a strong kiss with a girl and She have a bite my lips and the next day my lips were some inflamed, the situation is that I have gave her a quick oral sex and I am worried about a contagious of HIV from her to me.
