Dr Jose and Dr Sean- Please help with my HIV and STD risk

Hi Doctor Jose and Sean,

Recently (about 2 days back) I had unprotected fellatio and protected sex with a girl in US. The girl told me she gets tested every 6 months and the last time she got tested was 3 months back and everything came out negative. She also told me she had taken some classes about HIV and STDs. I am assuming she's not lying. Also I read somewhere that the HIV risk for a insertive partner in negligible in case of a fellatio. Also I was sure that the condom was on all the time. Although it had slipped a bit, the penis tip was still covered all the time. Finally I didnt test if the condom had a hole in it. I am scared of getting HIV now.  What are my risks of getting HIV from the above? What are the risks of getting other STDs? What tests do you recommend?  How long do you need to wait for the HIV test to be conclusive. I just want this HIV thing off my chest once for all.

I am really disgusted with my stupidity inspite of knowing the risks associated with this type of behavior. I am sacred of getting HIV now.  Since last 2 days I have been reading numerous articles about HIV risks and transmission trying to find the answer. Everyday my anxiety is reaching new heights.  Please help.

Thank you very much for your post and welcome to our forum.
First of all I would like to reassure you; I do not believe that you have put yourself at risk of HIV infection.  There is no risk of HIV infection for someone receiving oral sex.  And in any case, we do not know the status of this lady, and statistically it is much more likely that she is negative, even as an escort.  The penetration was protected and that is safe.  If the condom had come off or was broken, you would have noticed.  Therefore I do not believe that you need to worry about that.  Even if you had not used a condom (and assuming that she was positive, which we do not know), the risk for you would still be relatively low.
Now, these are the possible risks from receiving fellatio: Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea, NSU, Syphilis and Herpes.
