False Negative tests?

Hello doctor,

Thanks for your help. I have tested negative with an oral swab with an oraquick test at five months. But I am having SO many symptoms that only happened after exposure. Am I a late seroconverter?

Hello again

As far as I can make out, a Unigold Trinity is a third generation test = good at 6weeks in more than 99% of cases. At four months this test is certain. In combination with the saliva test you can be absolutely certain.

best regards, Sean

Okay I will do a blood test and let you know results. I am VERY scared though. I did have a unigold trinity which is a rapid test at four months as well. If I am pos would the blood rapid have shown at four months?

Good Morning

It is unlikely that if you had a negative saliva test that these symptoms would be due to HIV.

However, the only constructive way forward is for you to have an HIV test by having blood taken by a doctor / clinic. You will then know for certain your HIV status.

best regards, Sean

Loss of appetite, abnormal menstrual period, mouth sores, rashes on body, facial acne are only some of the MANY signs. If not HIV then what did I get? The man I had the sexual exposure with is HIV positive. He came semen in my throat and mouth. Do I need to test at six months and a year? If not HIV what is causing me all this awful illness? I see blur and black spots in my vision as well.
