Fellatio

Hello Dr. Cummings:

I received oral sex twice from a person whom I ejaculated in their mouth.  Each session lasted no more than 10 minutes.  The second time, I touched his genitals, but never did anything to him.  He just performed oral on me.  He seemed clean with no cuts or anything in or around his mouth.  A couple of weeks later, I had some open sores between my groin area.  I went to a urologist who prescribed me an antifungal cream, and they eventually went away.  I also had a genital wart that he prescribed my condylox to use.  I originally thought that maybe I got genital herpes, but I got tested for that and std's chlamydia and gonnorea, and tested negative for those.  My only last fear is exposure to HIV.  Currently I have broken out on various parts of my arms little red bumps, and also on my chest that are healing right now with a crust on top.  I have severe anxiety, and want to go get checked for HIV soon, but am very fearful.  I asked the person that works here at my job if he has HIV and he says no, that he was tested in October, 2010 negative.  My fear is also that if I indeed have it, I have a girlfriend that I had sex with since then.  I just fear of giving her it if I've been exposed.  Right now, it's been a month since this occurred.  I've checked my temperature and it checks out ok, between 98.6 and 99.1.  Have you heard of someone breaking out with random red bumps on arms and chest due to these circumstances.  Do you think I have been exposed to HIV?  Thanks for your response.

You are abusing the system. You have posted and posted and quite frankly I have lost track of the extra questions. This is spam.

Dr Jose has answered the question in the original form.

This post is now closed and we will not return to it. If you continue to abuse the system I will block you.

Those are not symptoms of syphilis. And you have been reassued that you don't have HIV.

You have to remember these Dr's are very busy and try there best to answer all questions but when you have new questions posted every day and people asking anxiety driven questions it is hard to get to them all.

Doctor Jose,

Can you just please give meone more comment to make me feel at ease?  Is it possible that I have syphyllis and I think I have HIV?  Recently I have broken out with these bumps near my scalp.  I've read up that HIV can cause bumps near the scalp?  Have you ever seen these types of symptoms early on with an HIV patient.  I'm just asking please for one more follow up answer.  I've seen past posts where you have answered several times.

Thank you so much.  Please also consider the facts I've provided in this thread.

Doctor:

Please.  Right now, I have a very hot chest, warm head and arms.  Could the bumps be Eosinophilic folliculitis, and also the warmness around the body be symptoms of HIV infection?  I've checked my temperature and it goes between 98.3 and 99.3.  Have you heard of these types of symptoms from new HIV patients??

Doctor:

Por favor.  Please, if you can answer the question regarding Eosinophilic folliculitis and the other ones.  Would this be a symptom within a month of exposure?  Thanks Doctor.

Sorry Doctor,

What if the red bumps healing are Eosinophilic folliculitis?  I've read this is associated with HIV?

"The CDC data suggest a transmission risk for fellatio of 1 in 20,000 if the oral partner is infected and 1 in 10,000 for the oral partner if the penile partner has HIV."

1 in 20,000 if your getting sucked and the giver is HIV +
1 in 10,000 if your doing the sucking and other person is HIV +

Sorry doctor, just providing one more detail about the exposure.  The second time he gave me a blow job, I was masturbating his penis for a little bit, and some pre-cum came out.  After that I told him to masturbate while he gave me a blow job.  What if he got some of his pre-cum on his hand while he was sucking me off?  Both times I ejaculated in his mouth.  Is it possible for there to be more chance if there was some sort of infection in the back of his throat?  Sorry, this will be my final question.

Thanks Doctor, just one more question for now.  Can syphilis cause the types of breakouts I'm experiencing?  Also, the symptoms I'm having are not related to ARS?  I have warmness sometimes between my legs and between my chest and abdomen area, and also itchy legs.  In the areas where I have the breakouts, there is a slight burning sensation sometimes when I rub there.  Sorry to ask so many questions Doctor.  Just hoping that you've come across someone posing these symptoms and having a similar situation.

Those statistical figures relate to the person performing the oral sex, not the person receiving.  In many years working in this field I have never come across anyone becoming infected after receiving oral sex.  I am completely sure that you do not have HIV.
Syphilis can certainly cause rashes.
Best wishes,
Dr Jose

Thanks Dr.  So basically the random red bumps on my arms and chest that now have brownish looking crusts on top are not part of a viral break out from HIV such as ARS.  Could syphilis have these types of symptoms?  I'm just having this bad gut feeling that it is HIV.  I hope I'm wrong.  I posted in the american forum, I live in Florida a couple of weeks ago, and the Dr. there says CDC says there's a 1 in 20,000 chance of getting it through oral.  Also, with the absence of seeing blood in this persons mouth, the chance of aquiring HIV is not there at all?

Hello,
Thank you very much for your post and welcome to our forum.
Your sexual encounter did not involve any risk of HIV infection for you at all whatsoever.  There is no risk of HIV for the person receiving the oral sex and there is a very low risk (mostly theoretical) for the person performing it, especially if there is ejaculation.  From your point of view, I can assure that you do not need to worry.  There is not a single case documented of anyone becoming infecting through receiving oral sex.  The main reason for this is that the saliva in the mouth neutralises the virus, making it impossible for the virus to gain access to the bloodstream.  For this reason you do not even need testing for HIV.  However you can laways have a HIV Duo test now, which will be negative and will give you the peace of mind that you need.  The rash that you describe is probably unrelated, but it might be worth being tested for syphilis, just incase, as there is certainly a risk of this through oral sex.
Best wishes,
Dr José
