HIV Exposure and Testing 8/14/11

I am a 73 yr. old male.  I had sex with a prostitute on June 13, 2011.  I used a condum.  We did not orally kiss. She gave me oral without a condum.  I vaginally and anally stimulated her with my index finger.  One or two days prior I had picked my index finger with a rose thorn.  Is this a risk?  She fingered me anally, and I feel she may have
hit my prostate.  On June 13,  I also had a PSA test for my prostate. He put me on a course of Cipro and then Septra for 4 1/2 weeks. It's njow o'k. ..  After June 15, I continued to have a low grade temp and developed a rash .  I saw a dermotologist. Rash went away., I purchased an EZ Aids test from CVS Pharmacy.  Sent the blood sample to Home Access Health on July 5 - two weeks after the my exposure on June 13.  The result was negative. They said I should be retested in 6 months. However, the low grade temps continued.  I decided to have  a OraSure Rapid Oral Test on July 29 - 6 weeks after the exposure.  This came back negative.  Last week, I developed a sore throat.  I went to my primary.  full blood panel was o'k. .  I may have diabetic neuropathy and feet have a fasting .  They say that I am pre-diabetic. OraSure people that I should be retested at the 12 week period just to be sure. The doctor at OraSure said that it would be a "fluke" if the 12 week test came back positive.  What is your opinion of my risk?  Has the advice I've been given o,k.  Oh, I called attention to my primary when he was examining my throat that I saw cheesy-looking spots on my tonsils.  When he looked he
said he didn't see any.  Since then,  I continue to see them when I examine my throat.  I still have a sore throat and ear aches.  My primary also said that upon examination my throat "glands" are o'k.  I should also tell you that I have not told my primary about my exposure and HIV testing. Please give me your best assessment and advise. I am very uptight, and feel great guilt and betrayal of my family. With appreciation and thanks.

Hello,
Thank you very much for your post and welcome to our forum.
First of all I would like to say that the above described sexual encounters are not particularly high risk from the point of view of HIV infection.  Fingering is certainly not a risky sexual practice, even after having had your fingered injured by a rose thorn.
Therefore I think it is highly unlikely that any of your symptoms have anything to do with HIV.  Regarding the tests, I believe that they are both antibody tests alone, and even though they are highly reassuring, they would not be fully conclusive at those time periods.  There is no doubt that you will need to get the tes repeated at least after 8 weeks, but I am convinced that it is going to remain negative becuase of the extremely low level of risk involved.
Best wishes,
Dr José

Do you have any opinion as to what may be going on with me ? What do you think  the cheesy-looking spots on my tonsils and sore throat are indicative of ?  If I have an Ora Sure Oral test at 12 weeks, would that be conclusive ?  Thank you again for your advice.
