HIV Scare

I am asking this purely because of extreme paranoia. I was in Thailand and foolishly engaged in unprotected vaginal sex with a bargirl in Udon Thani. This happened in one extremely drunken night three times the last time of which ended with me ejaculating on her. That was early March. In early April I got tested through blood and urine and have not received a call back which in my world usually means you have no results to report. As a precautionary measure however I asked the Dr. to be treated and was promptly given a large pill and a shot that burned for about an hour or so. It is now May and I am still as paranoid as ever. Sporadically throughout this time frame I have experienced slight nausea and lack of appetite. I also think I may have a swollen groin lymph node however I have no visible evidence of this and come to that conclusion only through a slight pain in my left testicle. Full body itching has been an issue but honestly since switching soap and taking cold showers the itching has become less pronounced. I plan on getting another blood test done shortly. I have also felt what I would presume to be slight join stiffness but I have been alot less active as of late. My question... as many others have asked as well... could this symptoms be chalked up to the extreme stress that this situation puts your through or is more likely that I will come back positive on my next check?

Thank you Dr. I am not quite sure what the U.S military uses. They are not to easy to get a hold of as well. Does anyone know what test they utilize?

Hello,
Thank you for your post.
The treatment that you received would have covered Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea and NSU.
The HIV test that you had would have been conclusive if it was a 4th Generation Duo test looking for antibodies and the p24 antigen.  If it was the antibody test only, I am afraid that that would not have been conclusive after a month of the sexual encounter.
If you are in doubt, it is possibly best to get in touch with the clinic, to enquire what test was performed and if it was negative.  I would also assume that if the had not contacted you is because all the tests had been negative.
Your symptoms are most likely to be related to your anxiety about the whole thing.
Best wishes,
Dr José
