HIV and PCR/RNA testing question so scared

I french kissed a girl quite a bit and afterwards I noticed that my gums were bleeding a little.  I was feeling sick flu like symptoms 5 weeks later.  Cold, drainage, coughing.  I was given z pack  two doses and it didnt clear it up now im on levaquin.  I have had lack of appetite and nausea all the time.  Now I have been having some headaches, feels like a swollen lymph node in back of head /neck area.  These symptoms have been going on for over 6 weeks now.  Im really scared.  I have read so many postings on the internet that show you can get hiv from mouth sores and bleeding gums.

I got an hiv and pcr/rna test at 8 weeks.  hiv test came back negative and hiv pcr/rna test came back no hiv -1 detected.  Is this sufficient testing.  I am worried because I am still feeling sick all the time.  If I was positive but had not sero-conversed yet, wouldnt my pcr/rna test shown something?  Please tell me if you think I have a conclusive negative or was it too early?  I am really scared!!! Please be very specific

Thank you so much!!!

Please help me, Im so scared!!!

Dear Dr. Cummings,

I wanted to thank you so much for responding back to my email request.  I have just one other question I was hoping that you might be willing to answer.

I received my hiv test back today just shy of 11 weeks.  Is it safe for me to resume unprotected sex with my wife, or do I need to wait another week or two and retest before I have unprotected sex with my wife?  Since It hasnt been 12 weeks for me to be out of the window period, do I need to be retested to have 100% conclusive results?

I would really appreciate your being able to answer my question

Thank you so much!

Good Morning Sir,

There is no risk at all of acquiring HIV in the circumstances you describe - none, zero.

The test you had was way over the top and completely unnecessary - but, despite that, is completely accurate.

The event itself was inconsequential and the test is certain.

You are not HIV positive. Relax and move on and enjoy life.

best wishes, Sean
