Oral exposure and testing period

Dear Doctor,

I have posted my question to Dr HHH, relief for a while and understand the risk I got, but since my symptoms presist, I have more and more anxiety and fear of HIV which I still believed I catched. I have read about CDC statement, recieving BJ is possible but rare.

My exposure was receiving 2 min BJ and followed by HJ. In addition of that, I got asymtomatic herpes and tip of my penis opening is larger than normal.

My symptoms start after 2 weeks of exposure which is,
- severe sore throat.
- mild fever
- painful general Lymphadenopathy
-Joint pain especially on my hand and feet, lower back pain and stiff neck.
- night sweats
-measles like rash, easy bruising, red spots, (appear all over my body),and body itch.
-diarrhea.
-fatigue.
- dry cough.

It has been 81 days after PE. Symptoms still persist but mild are, Lymphadenopathy, night sweats, body itch and dry cough.

Did unprotected sex with my wife, 1 1/2 weeks later she also shows some symptoms, which is sore throat, mild fever, body itch, red spots (same with mine), lower back pain, headache, and frequent yeast infection.

I have been using Rapid test kit 80 days PE but still NEG.

My questions is,

1. Do I need to do DUO test or Elisa test?
2.Need your expertise to take a look at the rapid test kit I used, it still recommend 6 month test. (www.hivtest.com.my) What generation test it was?
3.I have read almost all the posting, if it is 90 days PE test was conclusive, is there any different between 80 and 90 days?
4.Is extreme anxiety can delay seroconvertion? since it is very hard for me to recover.
5. Do I need to wait for my symptoms to totally go away for me to conduct another test then sufficient antibody level will be detected?

I really need your help doctor

Thanks.

Dear Doctor,

I am not going back to ask another ' what If ' questions. You are the expert in this field.
I do really respect and agree your answer.
I do belief I have no risk.
Since there is a prove I tested NEG.
From the bottom of my heart there is no reason for me to lie, I do experienced the symptoms I have reported to you.

Regards.

Excellent - I'm very glad you have sorted out the likely possibilities.

But, Jason, you were not at risk of HIV and the symptoms you report are completely irrelevant.

You do not have HIV from the episode you describe. I know you're going to come back with ifs and buts but there is no chance.

I'm not coming back to this question I'm afraid. We're done here.

Best wishes, Sean

Thanks for the answer.

I have read on the net which chlamydia and gonorrhea easily treated with antibiotics, I have been to clinic and doctor had given me antibiotic injection and pills (completed the course)  my symptoms did not go away but worsened, especially on joint and lymp nodes pain.

Good Morning

1. Do I need to do DUO test or Elisa test? \

No - you didn't have a risk for HIV in the first place.

2.Need your expertise to take a look at the rapid test kit I used, it still recommend 6 month test. (www.hivtest.com.my) What generation test it was?

NO Sir, I don't know anything about that test but I'm sure info is readily available on the web - this is for you to research.

3.I have read almost all the posting, if it is 90 days PE test was conclusive, is there any different between 80 and 90 days?

No difference - but you were not at risk in the first place - you cannot possibly have acquired HIV through being sucked and a HJ.

4.Is extreme anxiety can delay seroconvertion? since it is very hard for me to recover.

No.

5. Do I need to wait for my symptoms to totally go away for me to conduct another test then sufficient antibody level will be detected?

No. You were not exposed in the first place. You do though need to consider other much more easily transmitted diseases such as chlamydia and gonorrhoea etc before you had resumed sexual relations with your wife.

Best regards, Sean
