Possible Expose 17 days ago

Doctor:  I am going crazy with anxiety from my situation. Married bi male with history of occasional sex with Escorts.  Got drunk and meet a transexual escort. We had covered oral and then anal intercourse. I was bttm. She started by using a condom and stopped several times. Worker took condom off  to manually stimulate herself so erect and then put it back on i beleive 2 times. I know that a condom was used at the beginning but am unsure if it was removed. Worker stated that worker ejaculated. I did not feel it or did not have any indication when I cleaned up or when i clenaed myself out about 20 minutes later at home. I didnt see condom discarded after sex. I could kill myself for not verifying the use of a condom througout sex and I cannot say that it was definatley on at the end of our activity.

I immedialtely washed and left. Since then I have had some immediate fitigue which passed after 5 days. I have a bit of a sore throat and neck glands are a bit swollen and sensitive.

I took a standard HIV test after 5 days and recieved a negative test. Had unprotected sex with my wife after results of that test...  then read that it isnt conclusive after such a short period of time after exposure. Anxiety has overcome me and the repercussions of a positive test would have on my Wife and family.

MD also told me my white blood count was 10500. I am not sure if that matters

I just took the PCR  test that detects HIV. Results will not be in for 4 days.

What are my chances of HIV contraction if no condom was used at the end.  Help, I am going crazy thinking my irresponsible behavior may have ruined my wives life and my own.

Any and all advice and info would be appreciated.

Hello,

I don't know who or what milw88 is or referring to so I'm just going to ignore that.

As far as ranger1971 is concerned I'd say as follows:-

The standard HIV test you took after 5 days would only have given you information about your status prior to the episode - and I'm sure that the person administering the test would have informed you as to that.

You will need to wait until you can have an HIV PCR test = 10 days for a qualitative one or 28 days for an HIV DUO or combi which will give you a much more certain result.

The sex worker is likely to be telling the truth on both counts so I think that is reassuring.

I would ask you not to have unprotected sex with your wife until you have been tested for the common sexually transmitted diseases - chlamydia/gonorrhoea/syphilis/HIV and found to be negative.

Best wishes, Sean

I did just speak to the worker who stated that status was hiv neg and that sex was protected but because I cannot clearly remember the condom being removed and didn't see it I am a nervouse wreck so i assume the worst.

Thank you for your response doctor;

Couple of questions:

1) I have no real symptoms of any stds?  what are the chances I would have an a std?

2) What test should I take and for what re: Stds

3) I took the PCR DNA test at 17 days - results are pending - if negative can resume a normal sex life with my wife?  How conclusive is this result?

no more extra cirricular activities for me again!  I have learned my lesson.

Hello

1) well, reasonably high given you've been having sex outside your realtionship. You owe it to your wife to get tested.

2) I've answered this already

3) No. It will be reassuring but you need a 4th generation test at 28 days plus or a 3rd generation at 6 weeks plus.

best wishes, Sean
