Potential saliva contact

Potential saliva contact

I'll try to make this simple.

Yesterday I went for what I thought would be a normal massage. At the end the massuese offered hj or bj. I declined both, but horniness got the better of me and I put my penis between her breasts and she masturbated me using them. I had no noticeable cuts on my penis, nor did she have any on her chest. Her hands also had no visible cuts.

My concern is this: as she stroked me I kept thinking that maybe she spit on my penis, such as for lubricant - I don't really recall it happening though. So am I imagining things?I
I actually called the massuese and asked her if she used saliva as lube? There was a bit of a language barrier, when i asked her the q in Spanish she said no as if she meant it.

So why am I worrying? Is this no risk or virtually no risk (say she did spit on me and it did get into my urethra) - or do I forget this. I could get pep, as it is still 24 hours. Right? Wrong?

Hello,
Thank you very much for your post and welcome to our HIV forum.
You need to try to calm down.  There is no risk of HIV infection in this encounter at all whatosever, regardless of the presence of spit or not.  Saliva does not carry HIV; in fact it neutralises the virus, making it inactive.  Therefore no need for you to be concerned, even in the event of the lady having used any saliva.  Relax and forget about it as it was a safe sexual encounter.
Best wishes,
Dr José

Is it fare to say you
would know if someone spit on your penis? Is anxitey defeating my common sense?

Or if you didn't feel spit, at least you would see the women spitting? Right? I just keep thinking maybe she spit onto my penis and the spit had small amounts of blood? I really hate this feeling...

Let me elaborate: I don't recall seeing spit, I don't. Recall hearing her spit, I don't recall feeling spit. Is it fair to say that I wasn't spit on because of three factors - really stupid of me.

So I am correct to assume that (worst case scenario - which probably did not occur) the women's spit had trAces of blood (which generally does occur unless there was injury to the gums - such as brushing teeth) the saliva would neurtralize the HIV and thus Render is non- infective? Furthermore, the blood mixed in sAliva would loose it's infectiousness because it is outside the body, thus the virus would be susceptible to changes in Ph, temperature.

Furthermore, ejaculating (which I did) would likely clear out any saliva that might enter the urethra? I am sure that I was precuming, at least a little and this might have prevented the saliva from entering the urinary canAl?

So would you say it is not possible more
from biological standpoint, or more because there is no documented case of this happening?

Lets make this simple, saliva is not infectious. And as you said saliva would deactivate any minimal blood that would be in it. I think you are really over thinking this whole situation.

First, thanks dr. Jose and Vance

Your input is greatly valued.

I feel confident that despite my anxiety and emotional discomfort, I believe I was not at risk.

Can someone explain something to me. Most of the posts on the sight say that saliva is not a risk for std's or HIV. But in some of these posts the same dr's will suggest that saliva can introduce gonnerea (although very, very small risk), and that risk for HIV is not zero but very close to it. I recall one dr. Stating that you have better chance of getting hit by lightning, and it is very hard to quantify.

Why is this done?

Is the dr. Trying to be extra conservative? Am I reading too much into this? Are there any conditons where saliva can be truly infectious? If not, why would the dr. Suggest saliva has any ability at all to infect someone?

Dr. Jose you say "none whatsover" - I take that to mean 0, or about as much as me learning the entire Chinese language in one evening - I know there is no chance of that happening.

Thanks

To me no risk means no risk, not 1/10000000000 not 1/20000000000000000 but 0
