Result Test Elisa- Oral sex

Dear Doctor, thanks for the excellent and helpful forum.

I write you since a couple of weeks ago I couldn’t set  my “safety belt”.

In other words, I have hired a prostitute but just practiced oral sex (not vaginal sex).
She suck my pennies for 15-20 minutes that’s was all (I didn’t suck her vagina and we didn’t have any other kind of sex contact).

I was quite worry after that stupid incident  then after 20 days I tested in a laboratory and got the following results:

Anti-HIV I+II (screen): Negative
Anti-HIV I+II, Elisa: Negative
RPR: Negative

Should I consider that result as conclusive?.
Thanks again and I will wait your reply, thanks.

Robertt

Hello,
Thank you very much for your post and welcome to our forum.
Firstly I would like to reassure you.  If all it happened was for you to have received oral sex, there was no risk to you of HIV infection, and therefore there was no need of testing.  Receiving oral sex involves other STD risks including Chlamydia, gonorrhoea, NSU, Herpes and even Syphilis.
The tests that you had at 20 days: HIV antibodies and RPR for syphilis are not conclusive at that period of time.  For HIV antibodies, one would need to have it repeated after 12 weeks (or a Duo test including p24 antigen, after 4 week) and for a syphilis test, one would need to wait at least 4 weeks also.
Best wishes,
Dr José
