TRANSSEXUAL ESCORT ENCOUNTER

Hi Drs,

I had an encounter with a high class transgender escort (male-to-female) exactly pre-op 3 weeks ago.

We had deep kissing, frottage (penis-to-penis), she sucked me without condom for 5-10 mins, and i rimmed her deeply.

I have posted this to Drs Handsfield and Hook but the anxiety is really destroying me.

2 days after the incident:
I got a sore throat which lasted 2 days
small fingertip rash on my neck which disappeared after a day
phlegm and nasal drip for one week

My questions to you

1) In light of the symptoms I had, what do you reckon my risk of having contracted HIV are? I was not worried about the encounter until I got the symptoms.

2) How much of a risk is the rimming, considering she is a prostitute who probably has anal sex more than once a day, which could cause blood in her rectum?

3) Would a fourth generation combined test at 6 weeks be appropriate to put this to rest..?

This is causing me great anxiety, please please please give me a clear answer..with conviction!

I DON'T THINK THERE IS ANY CHANCE AT ALL OF YOU HAVING HIV FROM THIS ENCOUNTER. EVERYTHING THAT YOU DESCRIBE IS LOW OR ZERO RISK.

GOLLY - THATS A BIT OF AN ASSUMPTION. I DON'T THINK THERE IS ANY RISK OF HIV FROM THE RIMMING UNLESS OF COURSE THERE WAS CONSIDERABLE AMOUNTS OF BLOOD. YOU WILL REALISE THAT THE RECTUM/ANUS HAS LOTS OF BACTERIA AND THAT CONTAMINATION WITH THESE MAY LEAD TO INFECTION IN YOUR THROAT. FURTHER, IF SHE HAD CHLAMYDIA OR GONORRHOEA IN HER RECTUM THEN IT MIGHT BE POSSIBLE FOR YOU TO ACQUIRE THOSE CAUSING YOUR SYMPTOMS.

IT WOULD BE APPROPRIATE TO PUT THE ISSUE OF HIV TO REST, YES.

tested at 4 weeks with (i believe) hiv duo - negative

tested at 8 weeks with a rapid test - negative

tested with a rapid test at 72 days (10.5 weeks)

negative
