VERY VERY SCARED

To DR Jose, please could you help me.
Just to write in brief is that last Tuesday I visited a European Escort she looked very healthy, but I  just had  a sore throat during the time.
Anyway we both had extensive oral sex on each other for nearly 45 minutes, but I didn’t have any Vag sex with her at all and I left.
After two days I felt feverish, on Saturday the fever went vey high to 38.7 C with chills and heavy sore throat, I was taken immediately by ambulance to A&E, where doctors admitted me in the hospital for 4days, they injected me with lots of heavy Antibiotic Drugs to kill any bacterial infection which they think I have. Now I have been discharged and returned home with antibiotics tablets, my fever has gone, but everyday I have heavy night sweats .I am very much worried to experience these symptoms’ as HIV infected, I done a rapid test yesterday to find if I am  infected but it showed( -ve) .
Do you think I have been infected as HIV as the symptoms’ of High fever, sore throat and night sweats as I am very very worried

Hello

I can't answer that with any more certainty than I have here:-

""You started the encounter with a sore throat and it seems very likely indeed that this just developed and perhaps you added something from the lady's vagina to your original throat infection and this made things worse""

Obviously the only way forward to rule out other STD's is to have specific tests for them.

best regards, Sean

Sorry Dr to be a pain, what about the symptons I am having now , headaches and night sweats are not going at all. Is there any other STD infection, I have been to your clinic earler this year for a HIV test in March which came negative.
Thanks for your reply and help DR

Good Morning

I'm so sorry for the delay in responding - but Dr Jose, Myself and Dr Mervyn have been up to our eyes in patients - I do apologise.

I think it excessively unlikely that the illness you report is acute HIV infection - simply due to the time frame. HIV will cause the symptoms you describe but not at 2 days - most definitely not.

You started the encounter with a sore throat and it seems very likely indeed that this just developed and perhaps you added something from the lady's vagina to your original throat infection and this made things worse.

You can test very early both here in the UK using an RNA PCR test for HIV 1 and 2 and this is also offered in the US. These tests are very accurate and will give an accuracy level of greater than 99.89% at 7 days. You can read about these by looking at our blog by pasting this into your browserhttp://freedomhealth-co-uk.blogspot.com/2009/10/ultra-fast-ultra-early-hiv-1-hiv-2.html

And you can see a short video with Dr Merv and myself by pasting this in -
