Wounds and panties

Hello,

English is my second language. I will only include the necessary details, as I do not want to make confusion. I basically got in contact with an unknown thong. I put the thong inside my pocket and walked for a few minutes while keeping my hand inside of my pocket. Once stopped walking, I noticed both hands had small kind of cuts on the index fingers caused by digging in beach sand. The so called cuts, were kind of small, located between "distal phalanges" and the "intermediate phalanges" of the index fingers, exactly at the base of the fingernails
. In other words, near the Eponychium, a few millimeters away. Sorry about using "technical" terms. I just do not want you to get confused. I hope these terms help you to get the correct idea of where I had the "injury/cuts/wounds".

(they weren't real cuts, but the skin was broken and there could have been blood in these wounds)

So basically, I was in contact with these panties or thong for a few minutes. My fingers were in contact, touching the thong for a few minutes. The thong had a stain, a brownish stain, I guess it was vaginal discharge or whatever that could be. I believe the stain was dry but i do not know how old it was, perhaps a few hours or minutes. I do not really know if my index fingers touched it or touched anything that could have had infected fluids or blood. The wounds were small, probably not bleeding as i could not see any blood, but there could have been blood in my wounds/cuts. I can't tell for sure. Again, I don't know if the wounds/cuts had blood flowing or they were actually dry and healing, probably a mix of both, I do not know. In fact, the skin was easy to "break" around the wounds. I'm very worried about the possibility of exposure to HIV or HCV. How long does the HIV virus last outside the body? I heard HCV (hep C) can last for days. I'm very worried. I hope you understand the scenario I described and the problem. I apologize for the confusion. I hope you can help me out.

Hello,
Thank you for your post and apologies for the delayed reply.
After reading your description of the events, I can assure you that there is no risk for you at all whatsoever.  No risk of HIV or Hep C infection.
Best wishes,
Dr José

I apologize for sending another comment.

However, I forgot to mention that I drank a few beers that day, so I had alcohol in my blood. I'm not sure if that would make any difference, ie, the alcohol would make the immune system weaker?

I am looking forward to an answer. Thank you for your time.
