interpretation of the result

interpretation of the result

Hi,
I'm 27 years old male, I had sex only once in my life and it was unprotected with prostitute, I waited 3 months after the incident and did the antibodies test in addition to hepatitis A & B test, I got the result today of HIV1&2 in addition to Hepatitis B  but I should wait for Hepatitis A result until tomorrow.

The result is as the following:

Hepatitis Bs Antigen (HBsAg), serum  =  0.442 COI
HIV1&2 antibodies/Antigen Assay (combo)     =  0.206   COI

Both results are negative, but do the numbers mean anything or mean that I should retest again in a couple of months ? should I be worried about Hepatitis A result ?

Do I need to test for Hepatitis C ?

Please help, I'm still anxious.

Hello,
Thank you very much for your post and welcome to our HIV forum.
At 3 months, both your Hep BsAg and HIV Combo tests are negative and fully conclusive.  Those figures do not mean anything specifically; it is the way results are given with an index; anything below 1.0 is not detectable, hence negative.  No need to worry about it and no need to have any further tests.  It is simply a technical matter.
Regarding Hep A, I would not worry too muc about it as it is the less serious of all and rarely transmitted sexually.  Mostly it is contracted through contaminated food or water.  Hep C is rarer and difficult to be contracted sexually; most commonly it is through contaminated needles, contaminated equipment or blood transfusion.  Therefore I do not believe that you need to be tested for it.
Best wishes,
Dr José
