As you can see by a couple of previous posts I still have concerns. I was doing fine until about 8-9 mths post when I developed protracted sore throat that has finally resolved after 3 mths with PPI and H2 therapy for GERD. I also have slight thrush with some pruritis. Like most on this forum, never having these symptoms makes me start thinking irrational thoughts. I still have some thrush, which is something I never had. So here are my irrational thoughts:
1) This could be HIV because I never saw the condom go on but felt it
2) My sore throat could be caused by thrush or was it really GERD.
3) I also think that her sore nipples is related to my oral thrush.
So do you still think I have any reason to test. I'm having unprotected sex with my wife. I undertand that nobody has ever contracted HIV on this forum and nobody has infected their partners after their exposures.
I repeat that you could not have acquired HIV from the exposure described in your thread last year. Therefore, if you have had no other possible exposures, your symptoms cannot be due to HIV. And anyway, your symptoms do not suggest HIV. Thrush is painless, rarely causing sore throat; and I doubt your wife's sore nipples are related to any of this.
You don't mention HIV testing. You should do it. Not because I think there is any chance you have HIV, but people as anxious as you are usually gain more reassurance from negative testing than from any advice I can give. If and when you have been tested, feel free to return to let me know the outcome. You can expect a negative result.
