Chances i may have hiv/aides?

Hello doctor. I am a 24 year old male living in the united states, i had unprotected vaginal sex and oral sex about 2 times with a promiscuois woman 5 years ago. About 2 weeks to a month after we first had sex i developed flu like symptoms, (cough, feeling week, fever, aching) that went away after 2 days and didnt get tested for hiv until 2 years after that. I took hiv1/2 antibodies test. 3 total tests. 2 of those antibody tests were the mouth swab and the other they drew blood. And all 3 tests came back hiv1/2 antibody negative. Around the time i decided to get tested i developed a white tongue, i have bruises that appear on my arms and dissappear without me injuring them, i have small red spots all over my body that make my skin itchy, i get a dry cough about twice a year that lasts between 1 to 2 months, i have what i think is oral thrush, there is descoloration of the skin under my eyes, it looks dark colored and that skin looks like its sagging and the last year ive noticed im going bald in certain parts of my head. I have not had and sexual intercourse or any other type of exposure since the incident im reffering to.

My questions are is there a chance that i could have tested negative for hiv antibody tests 3 times , 2 years after exposure, eventhough i might be hiv positive?

I have heard that after 1 year of the last exposure to hiv if one tests negative it is 99% accurate. But does it remain as accurate if you get tested 2 years after last exposure?

Could these symptoms that i suffer be from an advanced hiv/aides?

This is most unlikely to be syphilis.

It is also becoming apparent that it is unlikely that my comments and advice are helping you in any way.   AS I said before, the thread is now over.  Further questions will be deleted without comment.  EWH

Your question has been answered.  If you had acquired HIV from the exposure you describe, your test would have been positive. for you to continue to worry about this is inappropriate.  Please realize the there are NO specific symptoms of HIV and in the vast majority of people, no matter what the symptoms it is likely to be caused by something other than HIV.  This will conclude this thread.  You have nothing to worry about.  EWH

Doctor is there any chance that if i wouldve became hiv positive from the exposure i speak of that was 5 years ago that i could have gone from hiv to aides in 2 years when my first hiv antibodies test was done? and if that wouldve happened would i still test positive for hiv? Do people in the final stages of aides still create hiv antibodies?
The reason i am still concerned about hiv/aides is because of my chronic symptoms that ive been suffering from for almost 3 years now and that dont seem to be getting better.

Thank you for your response doctor. I went to a local hiv testing clinic today and had a rapid hiv1/2 antibodies test done, it has been 5 years since the exposures i speak of. The results were non-reactive.

If someone had gone from hiv to aides, would they still test positive for hiv antibodies for the rest of there lives? Does your body continue to create hiv antibodies even if you develop aides?

Welcome to the Forum. I apologize for the delay in getting to you.  It has been a busy day.

I am pleased to tell you that you can be very confident that you do not have HIV.  A single negative test 2 years following exposure proves that and although it is not needed, that you repeated the tests and go the same result prove this without a doubt. there is no reason at all for you to worry about HIV related to the exposure you mention in your post.

As for your symptoms, I cannot tell you what is causing them but I can assure you that each of the symptoms you describe is non-specific and nearly all people who experience such symptoms (white tongue, rash, cough) do not have HIV but have some other cause.  Believe your test results.  If you are worried about your symptoms, I suggest you talk to a health care provider to both find out what is causing them and to get treatment if need be.  In doing so however, you can be confident that you do not have HIV.

Hope this comment helps.  EWH

You do not have HIV. 2 years with 3 tests is a good indicator. The tests are so sensitive these days that they can detect antibodies. Relax and breath in and out a sign of relief.
