Do I needs test or not ?

Hi Dr.,

I am from Indonesia. I desperately needs an answer for my problem.

Last week, I am deep-kissing with a massage-girl for about 40 minutes. I didn't notice any taste of blood but I don't know if there is a blood, later, I found out that there is a small cut in my mouth (white cut, not red).

But this is the problem, I read in a forum that says using a mouthwash will reduce the enzymes in saliva.

I was using a mouthwash (listerine) about 30 minutes before I kissed the girl.

I don't know her HIV status, but I am scared since she told me that her boyfriend is a drug-user (still, I don't know his HIV status), and she had an unprotected sex with him twice.

Should I be concerned for this ? Do I need a test ? Is there a risk ? Thanks

I forgot to mention that I have a history of herpes in my lips. But when I kissed the girl, the herpes does not show up. The last time I have herpes is about 2 months ago. How is my risk ? Thanks

the N was a typing error.  Please do not worry.

You do not need testing.  The mouthwash concern makes no difference  EWH

One more question Dr. Edward,

So the mouthwash issue that it can decrease the amount of enzymes in saliva is not changing the zero risk ?

I really need your help. I am glad that I can found you in this forum. I am begging you to answer my question.

Thank you for your dedication in this forum, millions of thanks. Really.

Tests are more important than symptoms and should always be believed over symptoms. If your tests are negative, look for another cause of your symptoms

Thank you for your quick response.

So I should ignore all symptoms ? Even if that person is a positive ?

Does it mean I can live my life without any worries of HIV ?

No one has ever gotten HIV from kissing.  Using mouthwash does ot change this, nor does blood or sores in the mouth of the person who was kissed.  Thus there is no reason fro you to be conerned and you do not need testing - there is no risk.  EWH
