hello doctor hhh,
i have another question related to Hepatitis c and HIv co infection
1) if a person has Hiv and hcv co infection does it make false negative hiv antibody result and is HiV antibody test still reliable?
2) if i have negative HEPATITIS antibody test but high level of SGPT do i need HCV RNA test (i don't have exposure but my father has HCV and we live together )
3) can someone have negative HCV antibody test and positive HCV RNA?
Oh good grief. You're really beyond the edge of rationality in this.
Hepatitis C isn't even an STD; the only documented sexual transmission risk in in sex between men who participarte in traumatic (bloody) anal sex practices.
If your SGPT is high, it is obviously not due to HCV, at least not from the semi-sexual exposure with your girlfriend that you described on the community forum. Beyond that, I have no opinion about it. Since HCV isn't an STD, we don't regularly advise about. This is a question for your personal physician.
MedHelp permits a maximum of 2 questions every 6 months on the professionally moderated forums (see Terms and Conditions). The purpose is to prevent domination of forums by repatative and anxiety-driven questions about low risk events, just like the ones you have been asking.
