HIV FEAR

I had my life first time sexual intercourse few days ago in london with a paid female prostetute as it was out of control to resist. I used a single condom for the first time sperm ejection and received oral with a condom. I am 99% sure that the condom didnt break at any point of time (as I took of the condom as soon as my penis erected sperms and  was all in the condom and she cleaned my penis with Johnsons Baby Wet wipes). Later i used 2 condoms to be more carefull and didnt remove my condoms during oral (blow job) aswell. I havent done any blow job to her. I am bit nervous as it was my first sex experience, that are there any chances of getting HIV infection if she is HIV infected. The whole Sex lasted for 45 mins. If there are chances of me getting infected what would be the symptoms. I was having cold before the sex will that matter. I feel real guilty abt what i have done and i am really streesed.

he isn't going to change his mind today from a month ago. he said it was no risk. he also said he wouldn't have any further comments also. guess what that means. thats right! No further comments! You didn't have a risk. If you still have fears, asking someone if you should test doesn't make sense. You should just test to ease your fears. Although you don't need it.

"From a risk assessment perspective, you don't need HIV testing." I think that says it all. You had protected sex. You do not have HIV.

Certainly anxiety could produce the symptoms you describe. My guess would be that your feelings and anxiety about sex are the only issue here. Please do consider counseling. I'd also suggest talking to your doctor about medication, especially if you find that you experience similar anxiety in other areas of your life.

HIV does not cause such symptoms.  They sound like the physical manifestations of anxiety, nothing more.  I have no additional comments and will delete any further comments from you or others.

You used condoms properly and effectively.  There is no realistic risk of acquiring HIV from the exposure events you describe.  Condoms are completely protective for vaginal sex, and even without a condom receiving oral sex is zero risk or close to zero, even if the sex worker has HIV--which, statistically speaking, is unlikely.

From a risk assessment perspective, you don't need HIV testing.  Do you think every sexually active person runs out for an HIV test after every episode of protected sex?  Obivously not, if you think about it.  But probably my reassurance won't settle your fears.  If that is the case, have an HIV test 6 weeks after the event.  You can be sure of a negative result.

You are in charge of your own sexual morality, so I don't have any comment about your sense of guilt.  But as you surely are aware, in most cultures in most of the world, having non-marital sex--whether with a commercial sex worker or anyone else--would not be viewed as a great moral lapse.

Best wishes--  HHH, MD
