HIV Risk very worried.

Dear Doctors

First of all i would like to thank you for this great option. Because of the character limit i'll try to summarize.
here is my story
i went to Germany 2 weeks ago and was in a FKK Sauna Club. Everything happened so suddenly
i had sex with a Romanian sex worker 15 days ago. She started with  unprotected oral sex to me, at the time she was making that she made some little bites on the head of my penis and the shaft. I'm circumcented( i don't know if it matters) generally my shaft skin is very sensitive and sometimes i mastrubate it bleeds and some little scars occurs.
Anyway, she made some bites with her teeths and we made the oral sex, i didn't ejacuate in her mouth, after that she took me a  condom and we made vaginal sex for about 4 -5 minutes, i didn't ejacuate and she took the condom of with a towel and we seperately laid down the bad and talked to each other for about 3 -4 minutes. Than we decided to do it again and i laid on her body, i was up her. I started to rubbing her unprotected with my penis head and shaft and also the cuts ( teeth scars ) was touching other part of her vagina ( no insertation ) , most probably her vaginal fluids were in contact with my whole penis and the cuts of course. my penis touched 3 - 4 times and that she put a condom on my penis and we made vaginal sex. and i ejacuated . she took the condom with towel and didn't touch me and i dressed.

I don't think my scars were bleeding at that time but i'm not sure of that, i didn't checked the scars until i arrive to the hotel.

This was the very first time i ever had sex other than my wife in my life, i'm so scared and i'm going nuts.

Please let me know if i can get infected? i'll get a 21 days P24 Hiv 1 / 2 antigen and anticore test, i'm really scared about the result. If i get negative should i get any other tests, if yes which and when?

I really appreciate your help

Thanks a lot and best Wishes

Welcome to the HIV forum.  Congratulations on having only safe sex with your Romanian partner in Germany.  You can be quite sure you didn't catch HIV.

You had accurate responses on the HIV community forum.  At one point, those replies seemed to reassure you (you said "Thanks a lot guys for your helps. You are so kind. I'm really relaxed [about these events]" -- but then it became clear you were not convinced.

First, even though HIV is an increasingly common problem in eastern Europe, it remains statistically unlikely that your Romanian commercial sex partner had HIV.  Second, even if she did have HIV, condoms work -- so there is no concern about the condom-protected vaginal sex.  Third, HIV is rarely transmitted from mouth to penis by oral sex; some experts believe it never occurs at all.  Fourth, HIV is rarely if ever transmitted through bite wounds.  Contact with her vaginal secretions on your penis is not a high risk exposure either.

All things considered, it is exceedingly unlikely you caught HIV from this event.  However, for maximum reassurance, it is reasonable for you to be tested.  But I suggest you wait until 4 weeks before you have a combo (antibody plus p24 antigen) test.  A negative result at 3 weeks will be strong evidence you weren't infected, but for 100% reassurance wait one more week and have a single test at 4 weeks.

Whenver you get tested, you can expect the results to be negative.  Try to stay calm in the meantime.  All will be well.

Best wishes--  HHH, MD

The result is negative and proves 100% you were not infected.  That's all for this thread.

The results show you almost certainly did not catch HIV, and most people with a negative combo test at 22 days will remain negative, so your result is highly reassuring.  To be even more certain, I recommend only another HIV combo test at 4 weeks or longer after your exposure; any testing beyond than that will be a waste of money.

That ends this discussion; there is no need to post any additional test results.  Stay safe.

Been there, and I can tell you; no need to panic. Play with your son as usual; cuddle with your wife, try to behave as normal as possible. I know the feelings you're struggeling with but as the doctor said; you were protected - you're safe. This would be the perfect time to think about what you've done and what you've got to loose - that did help for me - but this is'nt a forum for moral lecture. Learn from your mistaces and move on. I know it can be mighty frustrating when people does'nt recognize the mental challenges you have to face in a situation like yours. I know the feeling - but based on the facts in your story you are not to worry about HIV. I'm thinking about you at this moment. Be strong - this WILL pass!

Read my reply again and pay close attention to what I advised.  Based on the risk for HIV, no testing is needed.  I advise it because you obviously were not going to be sufficiently reassured by my words -- you need the negative test in order to help convince yourself you were not infected.  This is the identical advice given to most questioners on this forum.

No more comments, please, unless you want to post your test results.  Until then I will have no further advice.

dear doctor
i'm sure you hate me but i'm really scared , i even can not play with my son

just a quick question,

i red many of your posts for other guys in the forum, in most post you do not offer to take the test, because they have very minimal risk or no risk.

you offered me to take the tests, please tell me you are an expert, am i in big trouble?

thanks doctor for your patience on me

no more questions until i get my 22 day results ,

thanks

JaBerz is correct.  HIV doesn't cause such a symptom.

Feel free to post the result of your HIV test.  Other than that, this thread is closed to new comments.

It's a very vague symptom, early HIV infection manifests itself just as every other infection. Fever, soar throat, swollen lymph nodes and yes, there can also be some rash. But it's very easy to find symptoms that fit to ones condition when you are anxious, especially for HIV since it lowers the immune response and with a weak immune system thousands of symptoms can follow.

Do an ELISA-test, get ur negative answer and get over it.

When commercial sex workers insist their clients use condoms, it usually means they know they do not have HIV and intend not to catch it.  After all, CSWs are at higher risk for HIV from their clients than the other way around.

Let's not have a long string of follow-up comments or questions.  Feel free to let me know your HIV test results, but until then I will have no further advice for you.
