HIV Symptoms & Concern

4 weeks ago, I went for a massage in Hong Kong. The masseuse does not provide sex, but provide handjob, and she stripped naked to use her body to massage me.

I fingered her for about 5 seconds. She then proceed to lie on top of me and used her abdomen to massage my penis. I'm think its her abdomen, but cant be totally sure if my penis had come into contact with her vaginal, or did it accidentally went into it.

I did talk about having sex during this, but she started telling me that it would be a bad idea as it spreads diseases. So I think my penis did not penetrate her, and I saw her getting up and wiping her abdomen after I ejaculated. She then proceed to give me a head massage, but it was too hard and there was a bruised spot on my scalp that had some clear liquid cloaking it, but no bleeding.

About 6-7 days after that, I started having light diarrhea, that stopped within the day. 2 days later, I started having fever, and was feeling unwell. I dont think the fever went above 37.8C, but cant be sure. I also developed a sore throat at the same time. The sore throat and fever subsided after about 2 days, but I was still feeling unwell, and panicking and the same time (not sure if the worrying contributed to it).

Another 3 days later, the sore throat came back, and this time, I completely lost my voice from it. When to see a doctor and he told me it was a bacteria infection and gave me some antibiotics, that cleared up the sore throat in about 1 day.

Another 7 days later, I came down with very severe diarrhea and vomiting. I also had fever that went above 38.0c. Went to a hospital and was almost put on a drip due to the severity. The diarrhea lasted for a few days, but the fever cleared up within a day after taking meds from the doctor.

Given all these symptoms, and my exposure, what would be the risk assessment of me contracting HIV? Do you think I should go for a testing? Are these symptoms suggestive of ARS?

Thanks for your time.

Welcome to our  Forum.  I urge you not to worry about the events that you describe.  Masturbation, body rubbing and other forms of non-penetrative genital contact do not transmit HIV.  HIV is transmitted only by penetrative genital or ano-genital sexual contact or by injection of infected material deep into tissue.  That you fingered your partner or may have gotten her genital secretions on you did not put you at risk for HIV.

Furthermore, your symptoms are not typical of the ARS.  The symptoms of the ARS typically begin between 12 an 4 weeks after contact, not at 6-7 days, they all occur at once and they o not come and go.  Further the temperature elevation that you describe is not as high as is typical of the ARS.

My advice is that there is no medical reason for you to seek testing or to worry.  I hope that the information I am providing will help you to not worry.  EWH
