It's good to hear you're getting mental health care. Congratulations! When HIV fears arise again, perhaps you should first speak with your therapist. Until and unless you have a new high risk exposure, you can be sure the replies on this or other online forums will always be the same.
Best wishes and stay safe.
Thank You Doctor.
I am seeing a therapist for my irrational fears. I am not a doctor thats why I am asking you these questions. It is reassuring to know that you are not concered about my blood tests, not even as a remote exception. You are clear with your words.
Thanks again!
Re-read your other past threads on this forum and the international forum. The answers have not changed.
Your HIV test results PROVE you did not catch HIV during the exposures you were worried about. Any and all symptoms you develop, or any blood test abnormalities you have, at any time from now for the rest of your life, cannot possibly be due to HIV from that event. If you are ever potentially re-exposed to HIV, another test might be a good idea. Until then, do not have any more HIV tests.
It is irrational and abnormal to have this kind of fear despite the overwhelming scientific evidence and the repeated, reasoned expert reassurance you have had. You might consider professional counseling about it. I suggest it from compassion, not criticism. However, this forum and other MedHelp forums are not an appropriate substitute, so I'm going to ask that you not return with any further questions about it. There's no point in spending posting fees to hear the same advice again and again.
Good luck-- HHH, MD
