HIV cut

Dear Doctor Hook and Handsfield( i sincerely hoop one of you can answer this question to ease me down),

a few weeks ago I had a massage from a girl in Peru(not a prostitute but a typical girl that performs these jobs, she had no cuts on her fingers lips nor in her mouth), she touched/rubbed my anus with her finger and licked my anus( 10 seconds), besides that she also licked my ear(3/4 seconds) in which a maybe popped pimple was( exactly a spot where saliva could flow away).

I know there might be a risk for certain std´s, but still I am more worried about getting infected by hiv. Some say saliva kills hiv, but what if it was contained with blood and stayed exactly in that spot by my ear, would it not then have time enough to enter that week open spot?

Dr Hook mentioned you need a DEEP cut in one of his forums and in an other forum regarding a napkin he did not mention the word deep, just that hiv infected blood dies quickly out of the body...

Q

1:I am confused and a bit worried what my hiv risks are, and do i have a risk or why not?
2: is still the thought that anallingus risk of getting hiv 0%?
3: Is a popped pimple not deep enough and does blood/saliva not have enough time to enter my body?
4: Should i get tested and is 6 weeks after exposure enough.

thank you

I understand your comment, just wantend to know why, doc hook says deep cut  is needed to infect and you dont. That was just what i Needed to relax, and let i behind me....

I just cant confirm for myself how long this pimple was popped and therefore it makes everything more probable of just à pimple and infected blood is needed to get hiv.

Sorry for disturbing you

A "large amount" would mean she had an obviously bloody mouth.  None of this makes any difference.

If you insist on testing, anywhere from 4-8 weeks depending on the test(s) available to you.  I believe the duo test (for both antibody and p24 antigen) is routine in the Netherlands (assuming from your name that's where you are).  See http://www.medhelp.org/posts/show/1704700

Anxious or compulsive persons always find a "yes but" or "what if" question.  But there is nothing more that will come to your mind that would possibly change my opinion or advice, so that will end this thread.  I won't have anything more to say.

lthank you very much for you quick reply. I want to ask you 3 more questions, please.

1. I am almost sure I did not touch my ear atl east 30 minutes I did not touch my ear, so i assume that would be enough?

2. Why does dokter hook mention a deep cut is needed for infection and you can not imagine that this could be a way to infect? Or is this an other way of saying I am absolutely confident....

3. what do you mean with a large amount of blood in het saliva? pure red saliva...I should have noticed that afterwhile when touching my ear?

thank you again.

It would make no difference if you did.

Welcome to the forum.

This is a zero risk event.  In order for there to be any risk at all, a number of specific events -- all of them individually unlikely -- would all have to have occrred:  the woman had HIV (she probably did not); if she had HIV, she had a high viral load (unlikely); since saliva is not infective, there would have had to be blood in her mouth, or blood or sexual secretions on her finger; that blood or secretions would have to be wet and in large amount; and "maybe" you had a popped pimple (did you or didn't your?); and that would have to be freshly bleeding, which probably it was not.  The chance that every one of these unlikely probabilities was true is 1 chance in billions, and even that may be too high an estimate.  This was a truly no risk event and you should put it out of your mind.

To your specific questions:

1) No risk; see above.

2) To my knowledge, HIV has never been reported to be transmitted by analingus. Biologically, it seems unlikely.

3) I can't imagine being infected this way.

4) Assuming this is your only potential exposure for HIV, you do not need to be tested and can safely continue unprotected sex with any regular partners you may have.

Regards--  HHH, MD
