So even if the Eczema was open from being scratched?
This was a zero risk exposure for a number of reasons. these reasons include:
1. Your partner was almost certainly not HIV infected. she was negative in March and the odds of her acquiring infection in the past couple of months are miniscule unless there is something quite unusual going on.
2. HIV is not spread through indirect contact such as what you describe. HIV is a fragile virus that survives poorly outside of the body. In addition, intact skin, even skin with an eczematous rash is a very effective barrier to transmission of HIV. thus, even if it was genital secretions and not lubricant that got on your hand, there was no risk to the exposure.
bottom line- no risk and no need for testing. You have nothing to worry about and no reason to worry about unprotected contact with your wife as a result of this exposure. EWH
