Welcome to our Forum. I'll be happy to help. the exposure that you describe did not put you at any risk for HIV or other STDs. HIV is not transmitted through masturbation, even if in the process a person gets their partner's genital secretions on them during the process and even if the person has cuts or sores on their hands. Still no risk.
Further, there is no risk of transmitting any STI from one person to another on someone's hands. the microorganisms which cause these infections do not survive this way.
There is no reason for concern from the events you describe and no reason to seek testing related to it either. I hope that this comment is helpful to you. EWH
Hi Dr.
You were right. I had visited a doc here and he scared me with the possibility of cuts and asked me to go for the tests. Received the HIV-1 RNA qualitative PCR results today (post 13.5 days of exposure). Not detected. Negative.
I hope I can take a deep breadth of relief now.
Thank you.
Spending money on a PCR test was a waste of time and money. It will be negative too. Your exposure was no risk to begin with. There was no reason to test. Continued testing related to the exposure you desribe is no more productive than taking your money and buring it. EWH
Hi Dr.
Been really tough days and each minute is killing.
Received my test results on 13.5 days post exposure. Negative.
HIV I II Abs+ p.24 Ag = 0.17
Could you tell me what do I make out of these results ?
I am awaiting my PCR results.
Thank you.
No change in my opinion or recommendation. EWH
Thank you Dr.
Its been 10 days now to the incident. Just to reconfirm I do not need testing right ?
Thank you.
There is no risk from the exposure you describe. Even if your partner had HIV, surface contamination of recent cuts would not lead to infection becauue the cuts/sores would have sealled off. EWH
Thank you Dr.
Any reason for no infection if there were cuts/sores on finger while anal fingering ?
Thank you.
Anal finger is a form of masturbation. Masturbation is not risky for acquisition do HIV. EWH
Hi Dr.,
Thank you for your very quick response. Does the reply remain same for Anal fingering ? That is what is main concern.
"Am I at any risk from Anal fingering with possible cuts/sores on fingers or vaginal fluids if she had touched her vagina ? I have read the rectum lining is one cell layer thick, and immune cells right above it are easy targets for HIV ? Have I put myself at risk here ?"
Do the rectum need to bleed for transmission or just the mucous membrane inside be exposed.
Also, how well do the virus and STD's survive in baby oil ?
Thank you once again.
Just to highlight there was no protection during fingering.
