Minor risk but worried still

Evening Dr
Im in the UK;visited a female sexworker via agency 30 days ago. had protected vaginal and unprotected oral both ways.I awoke with a mild sore throat 84 hrs after the event. 24 hrs after this I had an evening of the chills hot and cold mild fever no sweating but i urinated a lot.I also had an itchy throat and a cough that produced green phlegm for 1 week. 3 weeks after this my rosacea was the reddest its ever been and a ring of spots was on my cheek and I had an itchy rash back of neck.these disappeared in a day and Im hoping this was stress. 1)am I right in thinking that 84 hrs is too early for ARS symptoms (seeing as pep can be started right up to 72hrs)?
2) I took 500mg of penicillinV 4 times a day for 5 days to clear the phlegm/throat etc (I had it left over in the house I didnt go to the GP for a diagnosis); would this have cleared oral gonnorhea?
3)As for cunnilingus Is it true that the fluids at the entrance to the vagina have negligible HIV compared to those of the cervix?

Welcome back to the forum.

The important things here are that it is statistically unlikely your partner had HIV, as you learned from Dr. Hook in a past question (last I heard, the UK Health Protection Agency estimated that fewer than 1 in 1,000 CSWs in UK have HIV); the vaginal sex was condom protected; and oral sex carries little if any HIV risk, even unprotected.

Further, as you seem to already know, ARS symptoms cannot start so soon -- usually 10-20 days and probably never sooner than 7-8 days.  You caught a garden variety cold virus -- maybe from the sex worker, or from any other casual exposure at work, home, etc.

Oral gonorrhea is rare via cunnilingus, but not impossible.  Penicillin V might cure or prevent it, but it is not a recommended gonorrhea drug and is definitely not reliable.  However, the risk is low enough that I see no reason for concern and do not recommend testing for it.

I am unaware of data on HIV levels in vaginal fluids that make it to the outside, versus those directly from the cervix. The important fact is that regardless of this or other piossible explanations, nobody has ever been known to catch HIV by cunnilingus.  If it occurs it is vanishingly rare.

You don't need STD/HIV testing after this sort of exposure.  But of course if you would like the additional reassurance, feel free to seek professional evaluation.  Your local NHS GUM clinic would be an excellent option for highly expert care.
