Risk assessment: Strong kiss to none bleeding cut?

Dear Doctor,

Risk assessment: Strong kiss to none bleeding cut?

I went to a strip club and I have lap dance with one girl and i touched here and kiss here strongly on her breast. What makes my worry that I remember a minor cut (line straight 2 cm long) on her breast skin, there was no bleeding but looks like healing. Especially at the end of the cut line. I do remember that I stupidly kissed the cut and play it with my tongue and maybe I also kissed the cut strongly like sucking.

1- I’m scared from non visible blood or plasma or dry blood that I could catch with no sense. I remember also that I asked here (is this hurt?)...She says no. I did not taste anything nor see any liquid. Can the HIV be transmitted this way? With non visible blood or plasma. I don’t know how fresh the cut is.

2- Actually I developed mild sore throat and ulcer in my mouth but has been tested as bacterial infection but I’m afraid it is not. Because 23-july I tested for my sore throat and found as viral infection. Then 4 days after I developed small mouth ulcer, they retested me and found my sore throat as bacterial infection. So I’m afraid that the ulcer is bacterial infection but not the sore throat. Is this possible ?.

3- I`m really scared if I can get HIV from what i did. Again I saw no bleeding but let us assume that the girl is HIV+, I really feel that. What is my risk Dr?. Can the HIV transmitted from open mouth kissing or may be sucking of minor healing cut like (scabbed cut ...specially at the end of the cut) ... I did not saw blood or any liquid,

4- Do I need to test?

5- Can I live my life normal with my wife?. I really forested that I did this and feel a lot of stress and worry.

6- is this NO risk or low risk ...

I really appreciate your feedback.

The answer to these additional questions are obvious from my replies above, and  from my closing comment:  "There is simply no information you can provide, and no 'what if' or 'yes but' questions that could change my opinion or advice."  You do not have HIV.  If you cannot believe and accept this, it suggests a need for psychological oounseling.  Your thinking on this is not normal, and it's obviously having a serious effect on your life.  I suggest it from compassion, not criticism.  However, this forum is not a substitute for that, so I will delete any further comments.  Good luck.

Dear all,

I can't get back to my normal since my above story. I have lost about 8 Kg and I have naseau and vomiting more frequently. The doctor says this is due to depression and panic attack and he prescribe prozac for me. I also have frequent loose stools and night sweet. I have no fever.

I have tested at 6 week in 3 generation then retested for HIV 4 generation ELISA and it come negative ?

Do i need to re-test again at 3 months ?

is my symptoms look like the acute HIV?
please let my know your advice. i'm really scared and can't move on to my life.

Sorry, we're done.  In the 8+ years of this forum, not one person has actually caught HIV from an exposure they were worried about.  You're not going to be the first.  If and when that happens, it will be from a real risk, not a trivial one like yours.

Accept my reassurance or not, I don't care.  But this isn't a debate.  There is simply no information you can provide, and no "what if" or "yes but" questions that could change my opinion or advice.

None of this changes my opinion or advice. Even after high risk exposures (which you did NOT have), common colds and strep throat are thousdands of times more common than sore throat due to HIV.  And when HIV causes sore throat, there are almost always a bunch of other symptoms you don't mention, like fever and skin rash.

Please accept the reassurance at face value and move on with your life. There is no chance you caught HIV.

Thank you doctor,

Is it normal to have this sore or strep throat for more than 9 days from the early diagnose (no fever or any other symptom), I used the antibiotics just 3 days ago. But I read on the internet that strep throat should last between 3 to 7 days with or without treatment.

Could the ulcer that has been developed 4 days later of the early negative test be the bacterial infection so the result come positive and nurse mistakenly thought it is a strep throat?

I’m just feeling that this sore throat is last longer than usual (it is not painful but I can see it red)?

Thank you

Welcome to the forum.  I'm happy to confirm the brief but accurate replies you had on the community forum.

Sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV, are called STDs because you have to have sex to transmit them. What you did doens't count. HIV simply cannot be transmitted by any of the things you have described.  Nobody in the world ever caught HIV from such events, or in a strip club unless there was unprotected vaginal, anal, or (maybe rarely) oral sex.  And it is statistically unlikely the stripper had HIV -- probably no higher chance than 1 in a thousand.

1,3,6) No, HIV cannot be transmitted by oral contact with superficial scratches or cuts, especially if there is no obviously visible blood.  See my comments above.

2) You undoubtedly had a minor viral infection or perhaps a strep throat.  HIV isn't a realistic possibility.

4,5)  If this is your only potential risk for HIV, you should not be tested.  You can continue unprotected sex with your wife without worry.

Best wishes--  HHH, MD
