Sex Risk or not

Hello Doctor.  About 1 hour ago I had intercourse with a sex worker in Las Vegas, NV. USA. It all lasted for about 15minutes only.
I'm sorry If I'm going to sound explicit with a few details.
She came in and used some type of baby oil and cream lotion to massage my penis without condom and then she applied a condom on me.  Proceeded to give me oral sex with the condom on.  I then penetrated her vaginally while still wearing the condom and while she was on her back (doggie style).  The condom never came off and after we finished I filled the condom with water and It appear that it wasn't licking.  We never kissed.

I asked her if she had HIV or AIDS after she left via txt message and she replied she had AIDS but then replied laughing saying it wasn't true, that i'll be fine and said she dropped some money, that how much did I give her. I think that was her "office" or ppl checking on how much she made, so that wasn't reassuring.

After that I washed my penis with water and a bit soap and then urinated which burnt me a little bit while I did.

1) Why would it burn? Could the oil or lotion have irritated me? It never burned before after having sex.

2) Could I be in some risk of any STD or especially HIV, AIDS?

3) If she did have HIV or AIDS or other STD, what are the chances of me catching anything this way?

4) Can I continue to have unprotected sex with my wife?

5) What is the least amount of days I can wait to have a reassuring test that I didn't catch anything and which tests?

6) In a clinical perspective, should I test, for anything?

7) Could you tell me 100% that I didn't catch anything specially HIV based on what I've told you?

I've read that protected sex is safe sex but what if the condom had a small tear or her hands transmitted something to me while massage after touching her vagina?

I know you receive dumb questions such as mine all the time, so sorry for being another one of those.

Those are the results I expected.  Chlamydia, gonorrhea and other STDs don't cause the sort of urinary symptoms you describe.  Like the other symptoms you described earlier, and as I said before, these too "are typical for the physical manifestations of anxiety, depression, stress, etc."  See a doctor if they persist or you remain concerned.

The HIV tests will also be negative; there is no need to post the results.

That ends this thread.  Do your best to move on.

Hi Doctor, so yesterday i got my first set of results:

Clamydia, Gonorrhea & Syphlis = Negative

Pending p24 & NAAT.

Still can't explain my constant urination, my bladder gets filled rather fast and some occasional penile stings/pains

See my reply to your original question no. 5.  All the tests are 100% reliable at the times I gave.

As I said above, if you have any more tests, post the results.  I will delete any other comments of any kind.

20 hours

Thanks doctor. That's correct, I got confused. I guess my question was if my tests last year 3-4 weeks post exposure were accurate? I am mostly concerned those tests didn't catch any of those stds. How accurate were were they? My exposure was receipt unprotected oral sex.

Sorry for continued questions.

Your negative fingerstick blood test is reassuring, but not definitive by itself until 6-8 weeks.  However if the HIV NAAT and p24 tests are negative, those results, in combination with the antibody test, will be almost 100% conclusive.  But you will still need another antibody test at 4-6 weeks to be truly 100%.

The exposures described also were low risk for gonorrhea and chlamydia and I expect these results to remain negative.  Chlamydia does not cause open sores, which is what I think you mean by "canker".  For syphilis, the initial sore is called a chancre -- maybe you are confusing these STDs.

When you get the final test results, accept the results without doubt.

Hi doctor. Today I went to get tested and my initial finger HIV test came negative.
I'm waiting for results for p24,NAT, chlamydia, ghonorrea in a few few days.
However, they treated me for chlamydia and ghonorrea because I have constant urination.

My last unprotected oral was around October last year. I did tests 3-4 weeks after exposure and came back negative on all. I haven't had any other unprotected sex since then except with my trusted wife.

I heard for chlamydia you get some type of canker? I never got anything like that.

What are the chances I can be positivo for any of those stds since I tested negative back then already?

Thanks, doctor.

I have nothing to add to my comments and advice above.  Your doctor is being cautious, and probably reacting to your anxiety.  I'm sure he doesn't expect a positive result.  Just the opposite:  he expects the negative result will help get you beyond your anxiety about it.

I agree it's weird your doctor didn't just order an HIV test himself, but it doesn't mean you're at high risk for having HIV.

If and when you are tested, feel free to let me know the result.  Until then, there's nothing more I can do or advise.  You can definitely expect a negative result.

Hi Doctor, I understand this is repetitive, but...
I recently went to the doctor for something unrelated to this post and discussed with him my exposure and some strange, uncommon (for me)symptoms i'm having and he immediately suggested HIV tests for me :-\.  What are the odds?
Prior to this exposure I had tested negative 4weeks duo on a previous exposure and that was late last year.

I was doing okay until yesterday that the doctor brought back my anxiety and worries.

I have to go somewhere else to take the tests.  It just doesn't make any sense.

Those are not symptoms of HIV or any STD, but they are typical for the physical manifestations of anxiety, depression, stress, etc.

Is it "normal for someone to have such worries" following such an exposure is a matter of interpretation.  Sure.  The large majority of men in such circumstances don't worry much about it, but some do.  That doesn't make it abnormal, though.

Feel free to be tested if the negative result will be reassuring.

Hi Doctor, it seems my anxiety is getting to me.
Almost 2 weeks after my exposure, i'm experiencing some strange body aches, rash in different parts of my body including feet, i've never experienced those.  Watery eyes as if I was coming down with some type of cold or fever, chills.

I know i'll have to wait until 28 days to get a conclusive test which i've seen you advise for psychological purposes in cases such as mine.

Am I just over exaggerating?  Is it not normal for someone to have such worries after having "protected sex?"

Thank you doctor. I just saw your reply, I had been busy.

I have been feeling worried but I guess I'm just over exaggerating since you said there is no no risk in my actions.
I guess part of my my depression comes from a guilty feeling. And on back of my mind I know I didn't catch any disease but every now and then it comes to mind.

WElcome to the forum.

The important facts in this complex question are in your initial description of the sexual exposure.  It sounds like you had entirely safe sex, with a properly used condom that stayed intact.  Accordingly, the HIV risk was nil.

1) "1) Why would it burn? Could the oil or lotion have irritated me? It never burned before after having sex."  Soap and many lotions can be very irritating.  That's probably why it burned.

2) "Could I be in some risk of any STD or especially HIV, AIDS?"  No.  This event carried no significant risk."

3) "If she did have HIV or AIDS or other STD, what are the chances of me catching anything this way?"  Zero or close to it.

4) "Can I continue to have unprotected sex with my wife?"  Nobody can give a 100% guarantee.  But the odds you were infected were extremely low.  If I were in your circumstances, I would continue unprotected sex with my wife without fear of infecting her with HIV or any other STD.

5) "What is the least amount of days I can wait to have a reassuring test that I didn't catch anything and which tests?"  Urine test for gonorrhea and chlamydia, 3-4 days.  Blood test for HIV ("duo" or "4th generation" test), 4 weeks.  Syphilis, 6 weeks.

6) "In a clinical perspective, should I test, for anything?"  I see no need.

7) "Could you tell me 100% that I didn't catch anything specially HIV based on what I've told you?"  No, nobody can give a 100% guarantee in this situation. But the chance you were infected was exceedingly low and I see no need for testing.

Best wishes--  HHH, MD
