Sex during a woman's period

Dear Dr,
want to thank you for answering a prior question of mine, and promise you this is the last time I will bother you with my questions. I didn't want to bother you with this but couldn't find anything in the archives regarding this situation. Am actually going for my physical on thursday and hopefully all will be well. It seems from your answer to my prior posting, you said my risk for any std was low since i always use condoms, and the only non-condom relation i had was with my ex-gf who was a virgin before me, and that was after a few months of condom sex. Also no drugs, am hetero, and no CSW (ever). Out of all my sexual relations, I had sex with 2 women during their period. The 1st episode was 4 yrs ago with a woman i dated for 1.5 months, and we had sex once or twice when she had her period, of course i used condoms, though as expected there was blood on the condom and a little got on my shaft as i took the condom off. I was worried back then, but asked around and people said not to worry. 2nd time, was last yr, i had broken up with my ex, the one who was a virgin before me, and we met 1yr after the fact. she told me she had been with 2 guys since me. i used condoms this time, but she had her period.we had sex 7-8 times in a span of 15 hrs, and that was that. again there was blood on the condom and i think on the shaft since ther was about 1 inch of uncovered skin twds the bottom of my shaft, not covered by the condom. i know it sounds silly, but i would like to get all the facts from an expert such as yourself before going for my physical. In your opinion, based on the 2 experience i mention, are there any hiv risks.
many thanks, and God bless you for the great work you do, providing us with scientific facts while adding a much needed personal touch.
thanks DR. H.

You describe a risk-free sex life.  That you you had sex when your partners were menstruating doesn't change that.

Thank you Doc, again!!! shygirl, you were right. I guess after all the junk I heard over the yrs, on Tv, in the papers, and especially on the web, I didn't know what/who to believe. A little anxious for my physical, just my nature when I comes down to my health, but over this past week or so since since I started reading this great forum and listening to Dr. H, I have learned the real facts, and feel more confident about the reality of std's. Thank you both.

Dear Dr,
Don't know if you will see this, wanted to let you know that I got back my results for HIV, syphilis, chlamydia, gono, Hep A and B, and all were NEGATIVE!!!! I know you told that I was practising safe sex, but you know how the mind operates. I have conquered a fear by going to get tested and feel like a better man for it. Thank you again for all the great and altruistic work you do. I know so much more now than I did 2 weeks ago.
As for Shygirl, thanks again for all your words of encouragement. You are great. From now on, I will be much more relaxed when having sex, knowing that if I have been doing something right. Thank you both for the support.

I told ya buddy, NO RISK. not on your part, and not on the girls part either.  you don't even need hiv testing except for peace of mind.
