T-lymphotropic virus

I am sorry that I have to ask another question this will be my last I  just can't seem to move on after I had unprotected sex in Europe in 2011. I had  many hiv tests all came back negative.. I just want to know if I should get tested for this,  since one site on the internet says that this is an std.. do I need testing for T-lymphotropic virus? I don;t see questions about this on this site and std clinics don't seem  to mention this a as problem should I worry about it? is it normal that I am still obsessing about the encounter in 2011 and can't let go?

Nobody tests for this virus.  You should indeed "forget this and move on".

I'm glad you're getting professional counseling. Good luck with it.

I am seeing a pschylogist tomorrow to help with my anxity, before i posted this question I did go to my doctors to get tested for  t- lymphotropic virus and she said that they don't test for that at the hospital nor did any of the other doctors test for this and that this was not and STD and that I should definitly not worry, like I said before I was tested for everything, hiv, syphillis, etc my main focus on this t- lymphotropic virus  is because randomly i saw it on internet which I regret. I just want you to reassure me for the last time that I should for get this and move on..

No, you do not need testing for that virus either.  It's not an STD, and anyway it is very rare.  And no, it is definitely not normal that you are "still obsessing about the encounter in 2011 and can't let go".  I recommend you talk to your doctor about it, and consider professional counseling.  I suggest it from compassion, not criticism, and because you raised the issue yourself. Also stop checking the internet about STDs.

That will have to end both this thread.  Also note that MedHelp permits a maximum of 2 questions every 6 months on each of the professionally moderated forums.   No more on this one before next March.

Good luck--  HHH, MD
