Test result an disappointment

Dear Dr

I AM FROM INDIA

At 34 days after an unprotected sex with CSW and treated successfully from gonorehia.

I tested  for the following HIV test available here in the Lab of eastern part of the country.

Detection of HIV P24 antigen and antibody to HIV Type 1 and/or Type 2(architect abott)
chemiluminescent microparticle immunoassay assy (CMIA)

The test result is negative (the test has been taken at 34 days) and doctor of lab when I asked said if anything was wrong it should come by this time.

However, very disappoint then knowing that INDIA has HIV type 2 virus about 2-3% cases.

I checked couple of question in this forum:

http://www.medhelp.org/posts/HIV---Prevention/HIV-type-2/show/1931954

Dr. HHH at the end mentioned the window period for HIV type 2 as

"The HIV-2 window period (the time from infection to positive blood test) is the same as for HIV-1, about 4-6 weeks".

In the context of it what is your view of my 34 days post ex-poser negative result with the above mentioned test I have described.

I am very tensed.

Please help.

I agree with the doctor who indicated that there is no further testing needed for HIV related to your expsoure 34 days before testing.  The tests you have are highly accurate, reliable tests which typically provide reliable results just 4 weeks (28 days) after exposure. You were tested at nearly 5 weeks.  You should believe your test results.  From the information you have provided, I see no need for further testing related to the exposure you mention.  EWH

Thank you doctor. I will definitely move forward. Only thing which worried me was the possibility of HIV type 2. But I know at some point I have to chose to move back into my life.

Thank you doctor, Suddenly It seems life has come to the end and every second of my life It is only thing I am struggling with.

One last question. Do you believe I can move forward keeping this entire episode of HIV related anxiety behind me?
