DO I NEED A TEST
i went for a third and final test eight months after my oral sex exposure, at a VCTC on saturday. it came out negative thru a capillus method. since yesterday i have developed low grade fever with cold and sore throat and pain in stomach and face. i am afraid that i have contracted hiv as i did not check if they used a fresh needle to draw my blood as i did check the last two times. this is also a hiv treatment centre so most of the patients were hiv+. today i called the centre and they said that they used a fresh needle for me. i know most of you all will say that these days VCTC's use disposal needle but what am coming from is what if there was a mistake. to be honest i did not see blood on it but how can be sure about the inner part f the needle. you really cant see inside? have i put myself at risk again... can i acquire HIV like this? somebody please help. my worry is the feevr and other symptoms...can i be so unlucky in life? teak, ausguy please help

Recently i had a sexual encounter with a sex worker. She told me she was safe and clean and actually insisted on no blowjobs and that i use a condom.
But just to be safe and in case she was misinformed on her own condition, i used 2 condoms (one on top of the other), ejaculated into her with the condom still on and no possible leakage after the whole thing was over. She climaxed pretty early though.
I know the only conclusive way of finding out is to go for a HIV test in a month or so, but what are the chances of my contracting anything?
Its been 6 days and i feel completely fine.
Prior to the sexual encounter i had a generic immunisation jab, the kind given for travelling. will it affect the test readings in anyway?
Thanks Dr. it was not my intention bother you, I am just worried.
Your comments really calm me down. Thanks a lot!!!!
I will set an appoitment with a dermatologist
Thanks again
I cannot tell you what you have from discussion over the internet. I would suggest you see a dermatologist to settle the issue.
As I said, with all that you have told me, you should not be concerned that you became HIV infected from the encounter you described. No more to say about this. EWH
Thanks for your answer Dr. it calm me down.
So, you think could be foliculitis instead molluscum? The reason of my confusion is, that I went to 2 doctors. The first one thought it was an infection and the second (the urologist) thought it is molluscum.
I still have the small blisters and I dont know what it is?...if is molluscum, i would like to know how to treat it. The urologist explain that they are gonna heal alone (but that is gonna take months) there are some treatment that help me to get normal faster?!
Sorry that i asking you this again, but beside molluscum or foliculitis...do you think under my exposure and my negative PCR HIV TEST...I am not infected?
Thanks a lot
Hello Doc,
In the 2-3rd week of my possible exposure, I had sore throat. At the end of 3rd week it subsided. After 28 days, I have taken HIV PCR test n it came out negative. In the 6th week, i am now suffering from Utricaria..Is this a possible symptom of my HIV infection?
You did not acquire STD from the exposures you describe. You carefully practice safe sex, condoms DO protect from STDs and you cannot get STDs from a hand job. You have had tests for STDs that rule out gonorrhea, chlamydia and hepatitis. The chance that you got herpes is negligible and a negative HIV PCR is a reliable test. Do not worry.
While molluscum can appear as red, pimple-like lesions, the rash you describe and the treatment you received sounds as though your physician thought you had folliculitis, a bacterial infection (not STD) that occurs at the spots where hairs grow out of your skin. The internet is not the place for diagnosis, nor for me to second guess a physician who has examined you and your lesions.
Hope this helps. EWH
