Your chances are very, very low but a negative test will be more reassuring than my words.  Any approved test will be fine.  EWH

The onset of your symptoms is late for the onset of the Acute Retroviral Syndrome (ARS) which is the earliest manifestation of HIV and only occurs in a small number proportion of persons who get the infection.  Your exposure was safe.  You used a condom for your genital exposure and you had no other meaningful exposure.  HIV is NOT transmitted by kissing so that you kissed her does not represent risk of any sort.

It is far more likely that what you are experiencing at this time is the "flu" caused by some other kind of community acquired, non-sexually transmitted virus.  I urge you do not to worry.  There is virtually no risk for HIV from the encounter you describe.  To prove this to yourself, you could get an HIV.  At this time, 40 days after your exposure, the HIV blood test would be expected to detect over 95% of HIV transmitted 40 days ago.  This, combined with the fact that your exposure was virtually no risk should be taken as proof that you do not have HIV.  I hope your flu gets better soon.  EWH
