possible exposure

Sir,

thank you for your time. mid june I gave and received oral sex m/m no seaman and not sure about precum. 2days after had fullness in my head. 1 weeks later had fullness in head, tight neck and shoulders for about 6 weeks with off and on nassuea, 6lb wieght loss and muscles aches and justt a not well feeling with no temp as far as i know. 7 week developed minor sore throat and tightness and sometimes soreness on both sides of my groin. 7-10 weeks stiff neck is mostly gone except on both sides of neck where i can feel 2 lumps( not painfull when pressed)  under the skin right below my ears just makes sides of neck tight., they are not visable Ears feel full and throat is still sore off and on and groin tightness/soreness comes and goes. I had hiv test at 2.5 weeks which I know is early and will be testing again in the next 2 weeks. I know they say oral is low risk, but still I would like your thoughts on what is going on.

Doctor does not think swollen lymph nodes do to the fact that he can not feel them or see them and has not much explaination for the hard bumps that I feel on both sides of my neck. Have also done ESR/CBC at 4 weeks which was fine.

what are your thoughts???

Welcome to the Forum.  In preparing to answer your question I read your interchanges on the HIV Prevention Community site.  I agree 100% with their assessment that this was virtually a no risk exposure, even in the unlikely circumstance that your partner had HIV.  You are also correct that a test at two weeks would only detect about half of infections, were you to be the very first person I have ever interacted with who acquired HIV through oral sex (but I bet you won't have HIV).  Thus, to help you with what is clearly a state of great anxiety, I would suggest you go on and get an HIV test at your next opportunity, If that test is negative, you can be completely sure that you did not get HIV from the exposure that you described (I am confident at this time that you don't have HIV but it appears that it will be important for you to prove this to yourself).

As for your symptoms, many of them (diarrhea, stiff neck, etc) can be caused by anxiety.  Your sore throat may well be due to a cold you caught coincidentally.  I can assure you however that what you describe really does not sound like the ARS.

Bottom line, there is virtually no chance that you have HIV.  Get an HIV test and prove this to yourself.  In the mean time, try not to let you anxiety get the best of you.  EWH

One last thing. I did test + on the RNP ENA portion of the ANA. Doc is still waiting on other results, and is waiting to do another HIV. My question is I have good days and bad days, but my groin swells and I only feel little beans. I have bad headaches and my neck feels swelling alot and my throat get hard to swollow but has not hurt for a while. Everything in my post has happend post exposure. I initally got sick for 3 weeks post exposure without fever, but I was also taken OTC meds. I had heard that hiv + would hit up a ANA +. I have not been tested since 17 days post exposure. Doc dont think infection cause CBC were normal 4 and 6 weeks psot exposure. Looking for some comfort. This will be last post until I can get test/results.

There are many causes of widespread swollen lymph glands and in some cases such findings are of no consequence,  if they are even swollen lymph nodes.  Are the swollen lymph nodes you describe lymph nodes your doctor has verified or are you the only person that has felt them?  If your doctor has not felt them having him/her verifiy your diagnosis before you assume you have swollen lymph nodes is the appropriate first step here.  Even if the nodes are swollen, this does not raise concern for HIV. Your positve ANA does not cause concern about HIV either.  go get your HIV test so that yo can learn that it is negative and then stop worrying about this. EWH

I need to ask one last one b4 my test this week. I have been have swollen nodes just about everywhere, not visable, but the area where I have swelling the dr stated are node areas. Would this still be going on after 3-4 months. Also had Anti Nucelar test that was positive, which concerened me.

Thanks you for your response, I alos forgot to mention that I have 2 white spots on one of my tonsills and one resembles a sore, I have had the off and on sore throat for 3 weeks, do you still think what you said???

Sorry I forgot one more thing, when all the soreness happens it all at one and also includes soreness on insides of shoulders and spots in and around the collerbone as I said aspin helps. All areas that I get tightness and aches is in gland/lymph areas
