really paranoid!

hi im a 24 yr old female. almost three months ago i had a high risk exposure receptice anal sex. he said he used a condom and i remember seeing a wrapper but i dont know if he took it off or broke or what so im unsure. ive asked him a million times via text messages even talked to his family and they keep saying hes ok. he said he got checked last month and was negative which kinda makes me at ease but not totally. i got checked in a clinic at six weeks and was negative. i have been stressed and anxious since it happened and i havent slept lost some weight and have had diarrhea almost everyday and stomaxh pains, soar throat, nothing bad and no fever. im worried cause after that six week check i had chills for about 4 or 5 days and when i went to the doctor last week he said i had leukopenia or something like that and low blood pressure 99/62 which ive never had....i am anemic and have had lower abdominal pain, and urgency to pee constantly for which they gave me macrobid.

do you think that i could have gotten hiv and it didnt show up in the six week check?

should i get checked at three months which will be next week?

are any of this symptoms related to hiv?

am i just bieng paranoid and all this symptoms are because of worry and nothing else? thanks

See above, that is up to you.  I see no need for further testing.  EWH

As I said there is virtually no chance this is HIV

Low BP and WBC are non-specific findings that are not necessarily suggestive of HIV, particularly with negative tests.

If you want to test further for your peace of mind, any test after 8 weeks will be definitive.  At that time, I would urge you to not worry further about HIV (actually, I would rurge you to not worry at this time)  EWH

Welcome to our Forum. I do not thing you should be worried about HIV.  The chance that your partner, as a heterosexual male had HIV is very, very low.  Furthermore, if he says he was checked on found not to have HIV he was probably telling the truth and if his test was negative he would not have effected you.  Even if he was infected, if he used a condom and it certainly sounds like he did, then that would protect you as well.  Finally, a blood test taken at 6 weeks would detect well over 95% of recently acquired infections.  When all of these considerations are considered, there really is no reason to be worried about HIV.

As far as your symptoms are concerned, these are very non-specific symptoms which could be caused by any of a number of different things including common, community acquired, non-STD viral infection.  I would not worry about HIV as the cause of your symptoms.

I hope this comment is helpful to you.  EWH
