HIV Meds

Hi. My doctor recently changed my meds from Atripla to the same combination but in two tablets which is Sustiva and Truvada which has emtricitibine in it too.

I checked, and these are the same ingredients in Atripla. He changed it because I had a "blip" in my viral load. Viral load was at one point after taking Atripla "undedectable" for about 10 months, then went up to 45 then 3 months later tp 65. Now my doc told me that this does happen, but just to check if I am not resitant to Atripla, he thought of giving me the seperate tablets.

Well, the question really is: Will this tablets give me new side effects as I am starting to take them tonight as Atripla gave me NO side effects.

Thanx for anyone who will be kind to reply.

Ya, I thought the same, even the nurse said the same thing, but he wanted to see if I became resistant to anyone of the ingredients in atripla...but today I went back to the clinic and my viral load is back to being undectable, and this was before I started to use sustiva and truvada, so it was only just a BLIP!!!  The doc did say he will put be back on Atripla...buthave to finish these tabs first.

It was pretty stupid changing you from Atripla to taking Sustiva and Truvada doesn't make any sense at all.
