So much good info - where to start?

Greetings all,
I am a 39 yr male, living in San Francisco, living with HIV (asymptomatic), diagnosed 10/01, VL:150, CD4: 600's, presently Rx'd; ATRIPLA. No OI's. Have one other diagnosis;
My Grandfather and two uncles all died of Pulmonary Embolisms in the lung. Genetic Factors; Diagnosed Low Functional S Protein.
Since being diagnosed with HIV, have been hospitalized four times for PE since 2001. Have been diagnosed with DVT two times. Presently taking 10 mg/Coumadin/day. Have been on Warfarin/Coumadin for five yrs now.
Have not learned much from personal HIV physician in regards to DVT/PE but have browsed relevant and helpful info on Medhelp.org
Dr is wondering if HIV has any affect on Functional S and or DVT/PE
Another Q? Does PT/INR have to be in the 2.5-3.5 range for EVERYONE to be as effective? Other resources/info would be appreciated.

HI...WELCOME TO THE SITE!

i don't know about anyone else...but i cannot answer your questions...lol.  i think most of us are new to the "HIV world" and just learning more about it ourselves.

if you read my original post...you will know that my son just tested positive a week and a half ago.  we will find out how he stands on the 26th of this month.

you may be able to help us alot since you have been living with hiv for some time now.  i want to be as informed as i possibly can in order to help my son live a long, happy, and healthy life.  don't be surprised if you see me calling on you...hope you will stick around...and i hope you don't get embarrassed easily (hehe) since some of the questions i ask can be rather personal.
