Why am I sooooo tired all the time?

I found out on Dec 17/09 that I am HIV+.  For some time now, I have had trouble sleeping and I feel as though I am ALWAYS completely and utterly exhausted.  I sleep but it's not a sound sleep...I have to get up several times a night to pee and/or BM.  I am beginning to sweat a lot during sleep and wake up almost soaked.  I have had the runs for three weeks now but I understand that that is quite common.  I am just soooooooo tired I can't think straight and I can't work properly.  I've also lost most of my appetite but i think this is also common.

Why do I feel soo drained?  So tired?  Am I going to be this way for the rest of my life?  I am so depressed!!!

All that I can say is that your doctor will need to run certain tests. Being tired is part of the process of being positive. I have been diagnosed for 4 1/2 years now and I still get tired sometimes. I have noticed that it now comes in cycles. I will have that tired feeling for about a month, then it goes away for about 2-3 months and then comes back. They say it gets better. It is your body rebuilding.

try look on the positive side of it all, its all hard to take in, less than a year ago I was diagnosed myself with the same illness, felt like my whole world ended, now I try my best to eat a healthy diet, lots of fruit, veg, cereal, fish, poultry, meat and I get some exercise, even if its only a 20 min walk a day!
things happen and u need to find the best way u can to deal with this whole scenario, life hands a bum deal at times yep but u gotta pick up the pieces, I hear ya when u say ur constantly tired, this is one of my problems but the more u focus on this the harder it is to overcome, u need to keep a good outlook on this and try tell yourself ur not tired and get on with your daily activities! I can't say much more here as I am no expert on this situation but this is how I deal with it myself, and don't go reading too much online as lots of this stuff online is false, a specialist doctor will fill u in with all the information u need to know, this stuff online 99% of the time has not been studied, so best not to read into it all, i wish u the best, take care buddy and keep the chin up

It is not uncommon to have problems sleeping, and loss of appetite when something is really troubling your mind. What I suggest is to find someone you can talk to personally - maybe a good friend, someone else living with HIV, a doctor that you know well, or relatives if you can confide in them. You might also want to consider taking a few days or a week off work to relax. I like to treat myself with little things on occasion to keep my mood up like buying a favourite food (expensive chocolate, a fine wine, premium ice cream - splurge at bit!). Try doing something you really enjoy but don't get to do often, or sometimes getting some exercise or a long walk on a nice day helps. Exercise is known to have many many benefits even in small doses.

If the sleeping issues are bothersome you might want to try a supplement called melatonin. Start out with a small dose 20 to 30 minutes before bed time. Melatonin is the primary hormone produced that causes sleep naturally in the brain - so a little extra sometimes is enough to get you into a nice long sleep.

Yeah but what is causing me to feel tired?  I know I have to talk with my doctor regarding this but surely you must have some knowledge or experience...I'm not going to hold you to it...I'd just like to know what the actual cause might be.
