Enlarged Lymph nodes and night sweats
Hi,

History:

- 3,5 months ago: condom broke during sex with csw
- started PEP for 1 month (trizivir)
- neck pain since 3 weeks after exposure (trapezius muscle)
- tested negative at 6 weeks and 3 months after exposure (antibody)
- will do re-testing 3 months after pep

Situation:
- I developed enlarged lymph nodes in my neck, these could be due to my sore throat I guess
- I also develloped a couple of enlarged lymph nodes in the back of my neck, at 1 side. These I worry about, because they were never enlarged before (as far as I know)
- I experienced night sweats, but only my leg was drenched, the rest of my body was ok

Q:
1) are the "leg sweats" consistent with HIV night sweats
2) what could be the cause of the enlargement of my posterior neck nodes
3) how reliable is the 3 months post exposure antibody test?

thanks!

1. Symptoms don't diagnose HIV.

2. You had a low risk exposure that probably was not appropriate for PEP.

3. Your three month test was fairly accurate (can't put a % on it), expect another negative.

4. You will be fine.

Thanks!
Do you have any info on whether PEP can cause permanent muscle damage or something? The pain in my neck remains.. I hope this is just anxiety..
