Hi
I had a test done on April 10 and May 5. alomst after 100 days of my fear . All came Negative.
Now I m almost convinced that i am not infected.
Hope I come out of this and looking forward to a normal life.
Thanks everyone!!! for the support and advice.
Of course the kit was still reliable. Do you worry about medicines that you take that are not past their expiration date? Stop looking for reasons to be infected.
Your anxiety is clearly getting the best of you. As I said previously, anxiety is very often self-perpetuating and resistant to objective advice and clear evidence, and that is what I am seeing from your posts. You never had a risk to begin with and are now well past the time when tests become positive if you are concerned about an 'exposure' that may have occurred in January. For the last time, you DO NOT have HIV.
Since you do not appear to be accepting my answers I don't think that additional answers to anxiety-driven questions are going to help at this point. I urge you to seek a mental health professional to help you figure out why you cannot let this go. You need to speak with somebody face-to-face about this instead of continuing to attempt to figure it out on the Internet.
That is all for this thread. Any additional comments will be deleted.
The last (whole blood) card test which i performed in a private lab, I got the card to ensure that they really performed the test.
the Card was made in cannada, 06/2008 and expiry 06/2010. Which means 2 months to expire. Is it okay to test on a kit which is to expire in 2 months. I got it tested on 30th march 2010.
Everytime when I want to belive that I am not infected, something or other pop up. Now I was told that i've acute tonsillitis with swollen node below my ear along the jaw line on left side. I dont know, how long its been there? It has not gone down after a week of medication given by the ENT specailist.
Does the kit provide accurate result, even if it is in the period of only 2 months to
expire?? , I took the test approx 65 days from the first day I thought i had any symptom). Do i need anymore testing? Plzz help me....
Is acute tonsillitis ( i dont know for how long i had this) with out any pain, realted ARS??
"I had a quick test (card test) done at a private lab. Negative. I wanted to belive that I am not infected and no way I m at risk"
Then believe the result and move on with your life. Get yourself off the subject of HIV and get back to where you were before this started.
I had a quick test (card test) done at a private lab. Negative. I wanted to belive that I am not infected and no way I m at risk.
--------------------------
two days back I met ENT specalist due to slightly swollent node just below left ear along the jaw line. Right side swelling is lesser but i can feel it. It didnt pain while pressing.
Doctor said I coiuld be due to infection spread to ear due to congested nose and cold. But i never had any serious cold in past 2 months, except odd runny nose sometime for few minutes.

Thanx for your reply. I wanted to belive that and move on. I m thinking of taking one last test and keep everything aside after that.
If you were (impossibly) infected in January then your last test would have picked it up. There is no basis for confusion.
You are HIV negative. If you cannot accept that, then seek a mental health professional to help you figure out why.
I have had 3 anti-body tests taken at varous time and a DNA PCR test
Feb 3rd - Antibody test -1 at public health service center
Feb 13 - Antibody test-2 & DNA PCR test at a private clinic
Mar 6th - Antibody test at a private lab ( since the clinic refused for further testing as i had no real risk)
all came out negative.
Since I dont when i was at risk, I could not put any time frame for my testing from the possible risk exposure date. Thats why all this confusion.
I all my life time my only sexual exposure was with my fiance. I m scared because I dont want to spoil my partner's life.
Pl advice.
I cannot explain your weight loss. However, I have noticed that many worried wells who come to these forums report it, so it seems pretty clear that anxiety is to blame for many of these cases- I agree with what you have been told.
HIV status cannot be gauged by presence or absence of swollen lymph nodes, mouth ulcers, or anything else. Everything that you describe can be due to causes 100-1000 times more common than HIV. There are no symptoms that are diagnostic of HIV- you are wasting your time and energy by trying to figure out your status by what your body is doing. Your searching for HIV symptoms on the internet is responsible for your current state of anxiety, because your mind is reaching a false conclusion based on bad information.
If you cannot leave this cycle of anxiety before you get married, then the answer is to have an HIV test. You don't need one on a risk basis, but for many people HIV Anxiety is self-perpetuating and doesn't abate until they have proof of their negative status. The test result will be negative, and it will clear your mind.
My Anxiety increased, due to some of the symptoms that I have listed above.
I was thinking that I have swollen nodes below my armpit. Doctor who checked said there is nothing like that. He checked around rib bones under the armpit. Not deep inside the armpit when you raise hands above your head close to ears.
and weight loss, though i was told that , it can happen due to stress and anxiety, I could not accept it fully. I m tryting to put my mind at rest by linking weight loss (from 67 kg to 64.3 kg) to stress. But i've regained (now i m back to 67 kg) it in 2-3 weeks time. How can this happen, did the anti-depressent medicine i had been taking for 15 days caused this?
almost after 2 months of first symptom, this week I had a small (about 4mm) mouth ulcer in lower front gum which was painful, healed in 3-4 days.
Can all this happen due to anxiety? Pl help
Tears and saliva are not infectious- HIV is NOT transmitted in households. You were advised correctly in the HIV Prevention forum on how HIV is transmitted.
