Hello,
I have a doubt regarding HIV .actually I had an exposure and to check the HIV status, I went for HIV testing after 92 days,(3 months),I went to a private lab for testing and asked for Hive antibody testing and he told that he will do TRI-Dot method which is antibody testing for HIV and I asked to do Elisa also and he had done both the tests and told me the result is “Negative”,
The principle used in that tridot testing is : HIV antigens are immobilized on a porous immunofiltration membrane. Patient sample passes through the membrane. HIV antibodies, if present, bind to the immobilized antigens. Conjugate binds to the Fc portion of antibodies to give pinkish purple dot against a white background
But the problem is after that testing, he gave me that tridot testing kit to me along with the test reports, unfortunately I touched the area of that testing kit membrane (with immobilized HIV antigens) which was soaked with my blood sample and testing solutions, I touched it with my finger and immediately kept that finger inside my nose and eyes …..so my doubt is will that HIV antigens preset in that tridot testing kit will cause infection to me ??Because I have touched it with my finger and immediately I kept that finger inside my nose and eyes immediately. So my doubt is there any risk in this????
Because that immobilized HIV antigens which are present in that Tridot testing kit after soaked with my blood sample (serum) and testing solutions( buffer solution and protein A Conjugate),will become infectious??? Because I touched that with my finger and kept that finger immediately inside my nose and eyes…because HIV can pass though membranes inside nose ad eyes so I am so tensed ,,should I go for testing for this?????? Kindly help me
