(%) Time to positive HIV test

I notice many questions on this forum relate to testing and times. This post is just to summarise everything I have read so people can find it when searching frantically.

Dr Handsfield and Dr Hook, the moderators from WebMD as well as Dr Katz and Dr Capaldini from AEGIS, just to name a few, all basically provide the following:
- ~85-90% will test positive by 4 weeks (28 days)
- ~90-95% will test positive by 5 weeks (35 days)
- ~95-98% will test positive by 6 weeks (42 days)
- ~99% will test positve by 8 weeks (56 days)
- ~99.9% will test positive by 12 weeks (84 days)

This applies to the newer tests (which all major labs in western countries will have due to quality control laws).

Chemotherapy, long term IV drug use and Hepatitis C coinfection delays antibody production and 6 month testing is advised.

My doc who is an HIV expert recommended me to test for Hep B and C and Hiv at 7 weeks...however at 3 months plus test...he recommended only HIV...so i dont think hep c interferes with the result..othewise he would have again asked to me to do hep test...

roo is correct. hep c usually isn't even a concern unless there was severe trauma during the act. most std screen tests don't include Hep C

No, from what I've read, only blood to blood transmission. Hep C is not even on a full STD/STI screen.

Can Hep C be transferred Orally?

Prior infection with hep c or coinfection with hiv/hep c?
I've seen many responses stating that hep c does not delay conversion time, where did you read that hep c delays conversion? What post?
Teak, is he right on this?
