If you are pregnant and seeing an ob they will automatically test for hiv, so dont worry im sure all is well.  We have all done things we are not proud of. I WILL KEEP U IN MY THOUGHTS;)

Yea they told me at the health clinic when I was pregnant they test you for every std at first and I beleive they run blood tests for hiv twice during pregnancy. You could ask them if  they tested,but I am sure they did and they would have definitly told you if somthing was wrong. How far along are you? They took blood and took blood from me when I was pregnant they test for EVERYTHING! However before they did my hiv test I had to sign a peice of paper kind of like a permission slip.

I did not think they did w/o permission. Did you sign a paper reguarding hiv?
You really need to make sure you get tested.

All states can test baby w/o permission though even if the mother refused testing herself. Why would anyone refuse testing?

Chris and Ohio are right! In some states it is not automatic, but it is suggested by most Doctors (in the states where it isn't automatic).

I have to disagree b/c when I was pregnant they told me they were going to test for hiv and I could sign a peice of paper refusing it or a peice of paper to get my results back. That was my case though. I had no insurance and seen an ob through womans health clinic so maybe that has somthing to do with it.
