100 negative and unstopped sore throat

by sanflint, Feb 27, 2007 12:00AM
it was my first experience and she was 18 years old. The incident took place at a very dark environment.  A sweet liquid came out of her breast and i sucked it. i did not see it and i don't know if it was a milk or not.
1-three weeks later i did HIV test and the result was negative (ELISA 0.39 CUT-OFF(-VE-).
2-six weeks later from the exposure, i did two tests: ELISA and HIV BY PCR and both of them were NEGATIVE.
3-100 days later i did ELSA (ANOTHER ANTYBODY TEST) AND IT WAS NEGATIVE
i am a teacher and work very hard. however,i have sore throat and rash for more than a month, what does that mean?
Please kindly assess my risk!
Do I need to get tested again and when?
Thanks a lot

There are no documented cases of adult HIV transmission through sucking breasts. Even if it was breast milk and assuming that your stripper was HIV+ (something you do not know), consider that even infant transmission through breast milk is very difficult. I don't know exact numbers, but I vaguely remember something like 15% when the baby is drinking breast milk every day, regularly, for a whole year. If you consider say an average of 100 mls, 6 times a day, for a whole year (x 365), that transmission rate is from drinking 200 litres of infected milk. You perhaps drank 200 microlitres (or 1 millionth of that volume).

On top of that, you have tested negative at 3 months. This is considered conclusive, even by the most conservative of agencies. Many much more common viruses cause sore throats and rashes. Yours is not caused by HIV.

Relax. You are HIV negative. You do not need to test again. You didn't need to test in the first place.
