When we say TEST DUO WITH FINAL 28 DAYS means that you can do from that brand. There must be exactly 28 days, may be 30 days, 40 days, 200 days and up to 1,000 days. From 28 days is already conclusive. As nursegirl said, 18 days is a good sign.
An 18 day negative DUO test is very reassuring. As you know, your test result at this point will be conclusive being that it's been 8 weeks since your exposure. 28 days is definitive for a DUO.
Yes, I know it is conclusive at 28 days. But it has been 8 weeks since I had unprotected sex.
I got tested at 18 days, but not 28, so they're just saying that I can hey the duo now and it will be conclusive.
Another wrong answer I read. This is unfortunate. A 4th generation test is conclusive with 28 days and not 8 weeks. So you can already do take 4 generation from 28 days to know whether it has been contaminated. An antibody test is inconclusive since 8 weeks need not be 4 generation. The CDC regulates three months for final test due to the possible use of oral tests and quick tests that are less sensitive than laboratory tests. I biomedical and read some answers that make me get hair stand on end.
Ask for a 4 th generation HIV test, at 8 weeks it is conclusive.
Thanks for your reply. I've missed the 6 week mark. Its now been 8 weeks and I am going to get another test in 2 days, that was the earliest I could get in.
I am feeling faint with anxiety. I am a complete mess.
I know I can't simply put this out of my mind for the next 2 days, plus longer waiting for the results.
I can only try to find some reassurance. But I ended up reading so much that I totally confused myself, and I now don't know what to believe.
18 days is too early for testing, it is an assuring indication for your status but I will suggest testing at 6 weeks then at 3 months for conclusive results.
