21 Weeks Later
Background: Unprotected vaginal sex (single exposure) with female of unknown status. Since then, have tested as below:
9 days - HIV RNA Qualitive (Non Reactive)
28 days - Combo Ab/Ag Blood Test (Negative)
90 days - 4th Generation Duo Test (Negative)
Starting approx week 15 started having headaches on/off until present (Week 21). Part of me wants to attribute the headaches to daily stress since I put myself in this horrible situation. I will admit that the stress has diminshed a bit with the above negative test results, however it's stil a daily thought in my head and I find myself still researching possibility of false negative results daily since headaches started. Prior to this I would consider myself to be healthy with no previous major medical or pre existing conditions to speak of. I guess my question is, 1) can i trust the above results to be conclusive 2) would ARS or early stage HIV symptoms start at week 15 and continue for 5-6 weeks later? I'm planning to test again at the 6 month mark. Thank you for your time!

Update: Went for follow up test at 22 Weeks (Combo AB/AG) and results came back Non Reactive. I very much want to put this behind me and resume life as normal and at least not be worried about the possibility of a false negative. I truly feel sorry for everyone going thru this and especially those truly affected by this illlness. This waiting period has totally consumed my thoughts and daily life.
Your tests are conclusive, you don't have HIV. You don't need any further testing.
all i read was that your negative at 3 month mark , that conclusive for me ...i dont read after that ,,, u have your test result and its negative ...be happy and stress free
Man your tests are so concussive that you do not have HIV!
You are quite safe to move on, even if you had a list of symptoms as long as your arm, you will still not require resetting :)

Thank you for the reassurance! I'm a huge mind over matter type person, however in this case my mind is getting the best of me.

A 4th gen test is conclusive after 4 weeks. So a negative at 90 days is sorted really.
I wouldn't worry about getting tested again. ARS normally starts 2 to 3 weeks after contact and last about 2 weeks. Headache is not one of them and they come all at once not bits and bobs.
