22 male / unprotected sex history

I am a 22 yr old straight male, who has a history of unprotected sex with 5-6 different female partners in my life. Out of these, only 1 has been for a long term relationship (none of the others lasted longer than a week - some only once). Although I've worn protection with other women, I am now at a point in my life where I am starting to wise up and be more safe. I've already made it clear to myself that I will never sleep with anyone unprotected again in my life. I contacted my previous girlfriend (4 years - mostly unprotected sex) and she informed me she has been tested within the year and is HIV negative. I really hope ignorance in my past will not catch up to me, it's been about a 7 year span with the 5-6 women total unprotected (all from the United States - only vaginal sex). I have high anxiety naturally, and am some what afraid to get tested. I have shown no symptoms or signs of HIV/AIDs. Should I be worried?

Should you be worried? No, it is very rare for someone with your history to catch HIV.

Should you test? Yes, it is the only way to know your status and therefore the only way that you can move on from your 'unsafe' phase. If it's been 3 months or more since your last unprotected vaginal exposure, you can test now for a conclusive result.
