4th generation antibody only test accuracy after 32 days

Hi ,

I got tested for 4th generation antibody test(atleast as per laboratory) yesterday after 32 days of exposure and it came NEGATIVE. I was under impression that by default 4th generation tests checks antibody and antigen but that wasn't the case here in mexico. Upon more enquiry, i came to know they do seperate p24 antigen test, which i just did and result will be coming on 22 sep.

I want to know if negative 4th generation antibody test alone is close to accurate ? I see dr.hhh have mentioned in few of his posts that any and all test negative after 4 weeks are 90% accurate.

Is it true? Can antibodies be present in detectable amount after 4 weeks.

Hi, as our members have said, you did not have a risk from the protected sex you wrote to us about as well as a negative test result.  This will hopefully bring you peace of mind that you do not have HIV.  We wish you the best and are closing this thread.

I know you all say symptoms are nothing when it comes to hiv but just wanted to know, last night i felt little itichiness on forehead between eyebroes and found a very small bump, rubbed it a little and felt nothing after that. Morning I saw that area is red, red like rash red. This is almost on completing 5th week. Could thid be ARS rash?

Anyone please help me on this?

Then why the accuracy question in the first place?. Okay. Nvm. As per CDC, only a 12th week test result is conclusive. Others, will only be indicative. I leave you with this info. I believe there nothing more to add. I wish you well.

I was checking in internet and nowhere they mentioned that taking antibody and antigen test seperately is fine and gives accurate results. Here, I got this only, seperate tests for both though 4th generation. Confused

Why do I have a feeling that I've answered you before?.. Anyways. You didn't have a risk in the first place and didn't need to test. A broken condom is hard to miss. There are no such things as holes or tears that would have gone unnoticed. In this scenario. You test would be conclusive as you had NO RISK. Be well.

Protected oral and vaginal using same condom with a csw, but not sure if condom got any tear or hole. Didn't check.

Got arthralgia/myalgia on third week which lasted 6-7 days and disappeared.

Should i still be concerned about the window period or consider this reliable? It was just 32 days after exposure.

My p24 antigen test result will come by 22 sep.

The absence of antibodies gives a strong indication that there isnt any antigen there. I believe its accurate.
