Hy. I am 22 years old , boy.
on October 22 this year, I had contact with a prostitute. Contact was unprotected oral and protected normal.
Since then I have no peace.First, I had analysis of urethral
COMBI 4th generation HIV test, which was negative. Also at 6 weeks I did tests for hepatitis and syphilis.
All were negative.
What do you think?
I expect you to answer!
Thank you so much!

The need for a repeat HIV test if still within the window period after a specific exposure should be discussed. Although fourth generation tests shorten the time from exposure to seroconversion a repeat test at three months is still recommended to definitively exclude HIV infection.

In an adult, a positive HIV antibody test result means that the person is infected, a person with a negative or inconclusive result may be in the “window for 4 to 6 weeks but occasionally up to 3 months after HIV exposure. Persons at high risk who initially test negative should be retested 3 months after exposure to confirm results

4.
A negative test result at any point in the investigation of individual subjects does not preclude the possibility of exposure to or infection with HIV-1 and/or HIV-2.
5.
Negative results can occur if the quantity of marker present in the sample is too low for the detection limits of the assay, or if the marker which is detected is not present during the stage of disease in which a sample is collected.
I work with the best Hiv experts in the world in sydney and a DUO is an excellent test. There has NEVER been a negative DUO at 6 weeks then turn positive at 12 weeks in Australia. So how do you like them apples.I agree that 12 weeks is official but I also accept facts and I just provided you one.Freedomhealth in the UK will tell you the same thing and so will the expert doctors here at medhelp. You are going back to the dark ages with your thought process.Stop reading BS on the internet and stay with the facts.
First, I want to thank everyone who responded to me.
I know that after the guide in effect, the window is 12 weeks.
There are cases of infection by the method described by me?
There are cases in which a negative test from 8 weeks to 12 weeks became positive?
"Persons at high risk who initially test negative should be retested 3 months after exposure to confirm results"
Risk to which I was subjected, is considered high?
Thanks again! I wish you all Happy Holidays, Happy New Year and good health.
You didn't have a risk in the first place so your questions are irrelevant.
To try and ease your mind though I will answer them but you really need to understand you did not have a risk.
1. No
2. In the past yes but in the last few years no
3.All people who initially test negative should re test at 3 months to be considered conclusive although a negative at 6 weeks is highy unlikley to change
4. Your risk was not high it was zero
There is alot of debate going on on this forum at the moment, it is being made out to be so complicated but really it isn't. If you have had a risk, and you haven't, then you can test initially at 4 weeks with a DUO or 6 weeks with any generation standard antibody test. In order to be conclusive per manufacturers guidelines you must re test at 12 weeks.
At the end of the day the companies that make these tests are a business, they have a massive legal team and they would be very very stupid to start saying you are conclusive at 6 weeks, could you imagine the law suit if somebody then seroconverted at 8 weeks. They are convering their arses and in business terms they should.
The fact is that there are many scientific studies on the window period and it is for this reason that a negative at 6 weeks is highly unlikley to change. We can't come out and say at 6 weeks it is conclusive or give a percentage as this goes against what the manufactureres say.
Do I think in the next few years this will change, yes I do but at this stage we are still saying 12 weeks.
What can be acknowledged though is what we see in the studies and this is why a DUO at 4 weeks and an antibody test at 6 weeks is very very good news to somebody who has had a risk. You have not. Give it up.
Thank you very much for your answer.
I hope with all my heart to be as you say.
I became more optimistic, because, your views and analysis, indicate that it will be well.
I was very scared! I hope to be able to calm down!
Thanks again!
I wish you all a good day and all the best!
Hello!
As I said earlier, I had 2 tests, 6 & 8 weeks 4th ELISA (HIV COMBI) description of the test is Electrochemiluminiscience Hiv Combi.
After 12 weeks I have done a test, just 83 days after contact, which came negative. 12 weeks=84 days , i had 83 days ... Is there a difference?
My surprise is the fact that in some places it is said that the analysis is conclusive at 12 weeks (84 days) and in other places at 3 months (90 days)
Can HIV be removed entirely from the equation? or I need any tests?
Please answer me! Thank you!
Is 3r gen Elisa testing at 2, 4 and 6 months reliable as 1 duo test at 8 weeks?. All of my tests above have come back negative but they were not the duo test
Thank you very much Teak.
i hope i am ok .. so if someone else have more feedback, please tell me.
More opinions can help me to calm down at all.
thank you all.. have a nice day !
Hello again!
Please tell me: am I out of problems ? Can I move on after my 12 weeks (83 days) negative test?
I was so scared and I need some more opinions to help me calm down !
